The Nasty Party filibustering Bills to help the Disabled
Today Tories once again showed their disgraceful approach to the disabled by blocking a vote on a bill that would have provided essential support to blind and other disabled people.
The Labour bill was blocked by two rambling Conservative MPs, Tom Pursglove and Sheryll Murray in an effort to prevent the bill going to a vote. Other bills blocked by the strategy in recent months include a plan to abolish NHS hospital car parking charges for carers, a bill to give first aid training to children in schools, and a plan to require rented homes to be fit for human habitation. Many of these bills had cross-party support.
Both the Licensed Private Hire Car Association and the National Taxi Association backed the Disability Equality Training Bill which would have introduced disability training for taxi drivers - ensuring that disabled users are not discriminated against.
The bill was presented by Labour MP, Andrew Gwynne following new research by the Guide Dogs charity which showed 42% of blind or visually impaired people were significantly more likely to be turned away by drivers because of their dog, while 38% of guide dog owners have been illegally asked to pay an extra fare for carrying their dog.
According to the Guide Dogs charity, there is an ongoing issue with guide dog owners being illegally turned away by drivers who do not want to carry their dog.
The shameful performance from the two Tory MPs embarrassed their own party - with members of the government front bench echoing the condemnations from the Labour Party. Tory MP John Hayes has expressed his desire in wanting to take this forward, but for now once again political games from the Tory Party have meant that British people continue to suffer.
Disgusting.

Typical response from a disturbed nazi. You have issues that you need addressing.
Why DONT you condemn these actions?
Snoring shows that you are not right in some departments.
Shame on you and your fellow extremists.

You think it's something to snooze about Nicko when someone stops a bill going through to make sure blind people can take their dogs in taxis? I hope you don't have anyone blind in your family. My OH's daughter is blind and this Bill meant a lot to her. You bloody disgust me.

LET'S see how nicko, Major, Raggamuffin, Devil' and company react over the next couple of years, as their beloved Tories go the same way as the American Repub's and the Aussie Nationals (ex Country party ..).
Disintegrating and falling apart, due to infighting between the nasty factions and the "wets", ignoring their electorates, and the sheer hubris of clowns who believe they were "born to rule"..
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
