My SIL has a trampoline for the kids and she has seen foxes jump up onto it....they must like the 'bounce'.

I love 'em as well when they rip down the wire netting of my Chicken run and my Grandaughter finds the bloody remains strewn over the lawn, including the special one that she called Chick chick, who would sit on her lap when she called it !

I can understand why you feel like that if foxes kill your chickens, but it's their nature.
If I kept chickens I would do my best to secure them so foxes couldn't get in their coop or wherever you keep them.
We used to have one that wandered through the garden at the exact time every night, it disappeared a couple of years ago. But when we had a snowfall soon after we saw lots of paw prints in the snow, not a cats and no dogs roam, so I reckon it had cubs and is still around somewhere.

I just don't get people who want to blow away an animal's life for the fun of it, or because they cause inconvenience.

You must remember, Charlie is exceedingly crafty, cunning, resourceful and an outright vicious killer who wantonly kills, not for food though, he will find a way in if you are not careful.
One night he got into a coop and killed 42, never even took one away to eat.
Some chickens fly up into the roof, into walls and injure, kill themselves, Charlie causes this.
We lost geese to him and even guinea fowl who can fly up into trees to roost at nigh when left out.
Large estate owners welcome the hunt onto their land but in reality the hunt kills few.
Beaters walking up to standing guns kill most.
When you kill one who invades your garden after your birds another one replaces it sooner or later.
If you shoot as a guest on a estate owners land and he asks you to shoot foxes it is not the done thing to refuse if you like your shooting as you will soon be ostracised in the whole area..
I do hope I have educated the uninformed.
I will be pleased to answer pertinent serious questions.
BTW, I am off out soon to get these little bugguz, will be tasty in a casserole.
.
Here comes the sh** storm, better get my tin hat
This is exactly why the Uk agricuture sector is so poor
You guys are so Arcahic in you thinking.
Foxes are a minor pest at most solved by the pressence of a Lama or Alpcha
Any Farm still using old english hunting methods to deal with foxes is obsolete and deserves to be out of Business
the British fear of foxes is laughably pathetic
they belong on the island more than you do
there are foxes around my farm and they dont belong there but they are less problem then feral cats.
A cat is much worse much more vicious and much more likely to kill for fun.
And ferals are the same size
- dead cat and fox:
although the danger is tiger snakes and brown snakes

Yep, they're foxes, but looking at vermin like Major up a tree they might decide to be wolves for a day.

You see, that showed me I just won. When you have to resort to overtly sexual posts (which, BTW are a banning offense) you have showed yourself up for being exactly what you are, a misogynist, bloodthirsty, RW extremist without of scrap of class or an iota of intelligence, reduced to the bottom feeder you are in a couple of posts (not that you had far to fall to the bottom) because you can't manage anything else. On top of that, you are one weird 'man' (using the word loosely of course).

Agreeing with slime talking about cooking a 'milky vixen' ie one with cubs. And if you don't know why you shouldn't be agreeing with that, you have a problem.

Major Breivik is talking shit, you never pierce the stomach until after you've skinned the pelt.Major wrote:Bella wrote:Makes me feel ill....

My recipe for cooking fox.
Try to shoot a milky vixen, more tender when cooked.
To clean a fox,
Hang it by its back legz, take a very sharp knife, start your cut by its private parts and slit it down the middle, the entrails fall downwards and you make small knife cutz to get it all to drop out, gravity does the work.
Make incisionz to the inner side of 4 legz and peel back the fur, go to its middle breast area and with your finguz separate the fur from the meat and pull off all the fur, this is not easy so best to do it on a fresh killed fox when they are warm. remove head as there is nowt worse than having summut staring at you with sad eyes.
Hose it down well.
Place it lengthways in a zinc bath containing water, white vinegar, Worcester sauce, salt, pepper and sugar, some add cayenne pepper.
After 3 days take it out of the marinade and swill lightly.
You may have to cut it into jointz to get it in the oven, put it on low gas for one hour, then turn it up to 180 basting it with Kerrygold butter and mustard powder.
After 3 hourz said fox is usually cooked perfect.
Take out of the oven, walk into the garden, tip fox into the dustbin and eat the zinc bath.
GOTTCHA.
Tin hat time. AGAIN

I have heard something similar about goose
involving stuffing with a brick roasting well and then discarding the goose and serving the brick , since it will be less chewey......

There's the correct way and there's not knowing what the fuck you're talking about, I suspect the only thing Major Breivik has skinned is a mars bar!

Re: 6 Foxes In My Garden
I know plenty of folk who eat road kill, but then I suppose living in the forest you'll find folk who won't see anything go to waste, personally I draw the line at eating any land predator, I know one old boy who eats road kill badgers, if needs must I would, worst thing I ever ate was a mule, fucking disgusting,,,,,,oh and a Pike now that did taste like river mud!Lord Foul wrote:I dont shoot most gane I could shoot, since I dont want it to eat

Re: 6 Foxes In My Garden
AS Foxes are feral pests here in Oz, they can be legally hunted all year round...
Though, it should also be noted, that they are not major pests in most areas, so that many landowners often let them be..
Much worse are wild dogs, rabbits, feral pigs, goats and cats in some regions, even deer in the Victorian high country; so farmers tend to be more proactive in getting rid of them.
Nicko, Victor and Stormee would have no shortage of places to hunt over here, if they were happy to only hunt the feral species..
