A Christian mob in the Central African Republic capital Bangui has killed and burned two Muslims in the street, in the latest sectarian clash.

The gangs told the BBC they would carry on killing Muslims in their area.

French and African Union soldiers are struggling to contain sectarian violence that erupted after largely Muslim rebels took over the country.

MPs are due to select a new interim president on Monday, a week after rebel leader Michel Djotodia quit the post.

This month marks the one-year anniversary of the violent conflict which broke out last June in Rakhine State, Myanmar [Burma], causing killings of hundreds of Muslims and 150,000 Muslim citizens to flee their homes and live within the confines of overcrowded camps.

The killings and rampage against Rohingya and other Muslims continue unabated. On May 28 night an argument between a Muslim man and a Buddhist petrol vendor sparked another outbreak of anti-Muslim violence in Lashio, Shan State.

The north-eastern mountain town was suddenly torn apart as Buddhist mobs went on a rampage, destroying Muslim-owned shops and religious buildings, and clashing with Muslim men on the street.

By May 30, hundreds of Muslim families had been forced to flee the violence, often at a moment’s notice. They were only able to carry a few basic belongings and rushed their children to safety.

I hear what you are saying buddy and agree to a certain extent but you cannot wage war on a group of people and not expect reprisals in return.

I understand that too, still never makes it right if either side do though, as that is the argument that Islamist terrorists use also, and that is not right is it or an excuse to commit terrorism?

Its a very complicated situation. Basically, the army split into rebel groups and began attacking civilians, muslims christians and christians muslims. The French sent troops in, most of the christain areas are now safe, but the muslim civilians are still being attacked. Add to mix The Lord's Resistance Army from Uganda, a christian (how they call themselves Christian I have no idea), who have been terrorising people for years in the CAR area and abducting children to be part of their 'Army' and you have a very nasty situation.

THOSE Muslim "insurgents" invade Hindu or Christian countries like Burma, Bali, Irian Jaya, East Timor, Aceh and Sumatra... (Largely with backing from the Indonesian and Malaysian governments..).

AND THEN they have the hide to complain when a few upset, displaced and bullied natives turn on them and attempt to put them back into their rightful place !

Muslims intent on land grabs and overwhelming the locals don't belong in Burma ~ a largely Hindu state !  One only needs to look to the conflicts inherent in the India/Pakistan/Kashmir/Bhutan regions..

NOTHING LIKE an obviously biased Islamist news site rewriting history from yet another fractured and struggling little country on the other side of the world, to give people in Britain and Europe quite wrong and misleading impressions of exactly WHAT is going down around this corner of the world !

What on earth are you talking about Bee, again two wrongs do not make a right and what invasions, yes please tell me about these invasions into not only China and Burma where people have migrated? Where in Burma they have been denied citizenship since when in fact Muslims have been there since the 11th century in Burma? Also how did Hinduism and Christianity come to Burma?


I suppose next you will be telling me they Invaded Indonesia, with your logic how dare the Europeans have settled in Australia, I mean how dare they push people off their lands, when this is not even the case.

So are Christians if you read your history, lets see, both American Continents, all of Africa, parts of Asia and all of Australia and what happened to many of the indigenous in these lands?
