I've asked a few times, as has Ben, that he posts in the right sections.
I'm sick of moving his threads.
One day, then he's out, but if he continues then he's back in.
He can't say he wasn't warned.

Well now this is a negative thread about another member. I don't blame you for getting frustrated, but this is against the rules.

It is letting everyone know that action has been taken and also to let Blackie know so that all of us know we are working together

It's a thread about another member, and not in a good way. The admin/mods need to be consistent. It would have been obvious he'd been put in the basement anyway. You could have PMd blackie.

That's not the point. Ben has locked at least one thread because it was about another member, and has said that this kind of thread is not allowed.

No one told me I was basemented (banned) last week.
Had no notice and only found out when a) I couldn't post and b) others were asking why I was banned.
At least have the decency of pming.

I think this constitutes an exception. We are in the announcement section, and a mod is telling us what's going on.
The rule against targeting a member is aimed at eradicating malicious threads, not informational or complimentary.

I have spoken to Blackie via PM. Because I don't say, people assume. And I'll let them.
The subject of announcing basementing and bannings has come up among admin. I think it's a good idea to let everyone know. It stops posters starting threads and asking questions.

The person who put me in the basement didn't bother to tell me either. Someone else did though.

That's not the point. Ben has locked at least one thread because it was about another member, and has said that this kind of thread is not allowed.
Threads created to bash other members aren't allowed. Threads with a friendly angle toward another member are allowed in Miscellany or perhaps Recreation.
This thread is simply informing that a member has been basemented for a specific infraction -- it's not critical.

Hmmm, it is a bit critical tbh. The rules are so inconsistent anyway though that I've given up trying to follow them.
