Ipswich magistrate's rebuke over court appearance "dressed like she's going to the gym"
First topic message reminder :
Ipswich magistrate's rebuke over court appearance
A woman has been told off by a magistrate for coming to court "dressed like she was going to the gym".
Ipswich Magistrate Stuart Shearer criticised 20-year-old Breanna Daphney Potter, who pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended licence and to failing to dispose of a syringe, when she showed up in court dressed in a Nike singlet and women's running shorts.
"Do you think it's appropriate to come to court dressed as if you are going to the gym?" he asked Potter.
"This is a formal proceeding and you are expected to dress appropriately."
Potter was convicted and fined $800. Her licence was also disqualified for a month.

The judge was right!! What did she think she was doing, attending court for a game of tennis? (See what I did?)

Walmart are very powerful. They pretty much own America.

Not quite. The only industries that really own America are the banking and insurance companies. Some come close...for example, Enron and the energy concerns. Morton-Thiokol and space and rocketry.
But to own America you've got to own blood itself, and the veins and arteries by which it is moved. That's the financial industry.
Walmart is a tinkerer--a traveling purveyor of varied household utensils--and that doesn't rise to the level of indispensable. But he who holds your money, owns your arse.

It's just a step up from going shopping or taking your kids to school wearing pajamas. My son once worked in a factory and someone came for an interview in slippers....no standards and no pride.
It's common to see some ladies in onesies in stores and garages now.
I don't disapprove of seeing tiny tots in their pj's, dressing gowns and slippers in shops cos it's one helluva hassle getting them dressed just to pop into the shops to buy something you've just remembered. You cannot leave them on their own if the other parent isn't at home so you just bundle them into the car in their pj's.
Thankfully my child rearing days are long behind me. Phew!

Yes! Glad you mentioned that, I knew there was something else. The syringe. What was that all about?
Was the syringe ever explained? Mind you, you cannot really catch anything from a syringe, it's the needle you have to worry about. The needle is usually detachable and is discarded separately, in the clinical setting.
