Dori: "Are you following 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refusing to stand for the anthem? He had bad things to say about both you and Hillary."

Trump: "I have followed it and I think it's personally not a good thing, I think it's a terrible thing. And maybe he should find a country that works better for him, let him try."

If Kaepernick's national anthem protest continues into the regular season, it won't be surprising at all if it becomes a hot topic during the presidential election, especially if he continues to criticize both candidates.

Kaepernick has said that he's going to continue to sit until there is "significant change."

"There's a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality," Kaepernick said. "There's people being murdered unjustly and not being held accountable. People are being given paid leave for killing people. That's not right."

Kaepernick's message might not have caught on with Trump, but it has caught on with at least one fellow NFL player. Eagles linebacker Myke Tavarres said on Monday that he's going to join Kaepernick's protest and sit during the national anthem at the Eagles-Jets game on Thursday.

Like Kaepernick, Tavarres immediately ran into a potential problem: His agent.

The linebacker's agent has talked him out of joining Kaepernick, which means Tavarres will likely be standing during the anthem at Lincoln Financial Field.

I absolutely agree. Trump is not even an established American. A third-generation German (via Canada, no less), his grandfather, Friederich (Fred) Trump, immigrated in 1885 to United States from Hamburg aboard the ship "Eider" and became a U.S. citizen in 1892 in Seattle, Washington.

Very few blacks have immigrated to America of their own accord. Most were brought via the slave trade, which means their ancestors came over at least prior to 1807, when the Act Prohibiting Importation of Slaves of 1807 (2 Stat. 426, enacted March 2, 1807) was enacted.

Trump's ancestors barely go back to the 19th-century.

I heard on the radio that Jimmy Kimmel did a segment where correspondents asked Trump supporters what exactly they thought would "make America great again," and the answers were really racist -- I think "bringing back slavery" was one of them.

Haven't been able to confirm that online, but there is this:

It's to bad that Ben made the mistake of taking the two most conservative British members to be mods on the eastern Atlantic side. Now, you are mollycoddling the most conservative member on the forum, while we have to explain the clear words of someone in OZ.

Perhaps British mods ought to be policing Brits, Americans with Americans, and Australians with Australians, and no cross-authority. What do you think about Trump telling Kaepernick he should get out of the country if he doesn't like the way blacks are treated? It bodes ill for his pitch that he would help blacks if they voted for him, don't you think? He doesn't give details, but says he would fix the inner cities where the blacks live.

Trump represents his own form of feudal tyranny, (which s probably coming anyway) most RW want corporate feudalism, I think it's their paranoia over the pension pot thing, they're deluded into thinking that their pensions will be safer under big business, you would have thought bailing out the banks and parasites like P Green BHS would have taught them a lesson about that.

I lock threads that need locking, whether I'm on them or not.
And I don't lose in debate. Debates are mostly opinion.
