France bans the burkini, Scotland just opened doors for Muslim women

As a row breaks out over the controversial burkini ban in France, Scotland have just opened major doors for Muslim women.

While many cities in France have limited the freedom of Muslim women by banning modest beachwear, Police Scotland have allowed uniform adaptations and a possible step on the career ladder.

It's become an epidemic ...fair minded rational thinking humans showing respect for a type of head wear {rather like the Catholic faithful have worn for centuries} and this all in the 21st century too!

I think it's a good idea, the full face covering would wrong for police officers but the head covering is fine imo.
Also it's good to have role models in your area that you can identify with.
I don't know if this has been adopted anywhere else in the UK, but it should be.

That has to be the most stupid statement I have ever heard you make. So people are going to go to the trouble of integrating and joining the police force to work to stop integration. That's just laughable. You condemn them for not integrating and condemn them when they do. Perhaps you think that is was Muslim soldiers are doing, and how about doctors and nurses, oh and don't forget teachers. Rolling Eyes

I'm talking about the Muslim teachers in ordinary schools, there are plenty of them. We know what the Jewish schools and the RC ones are doing don't we. And I see you missed out the soldiers, sailors, doctors and nurses.

as for Muslim drs and nurses and service personell they are irrelevant to the topic...this is about civilian police. mind you they should be well at home in THAT particular service,,,,,

so in fact your mentioning of those other (equally bad BTW) groups WAS merely an attempted deflection?

AND...without exception.......NO ONE joins an organisation which is given authority over others (and this applies to police and politicians equally even if that "authority" arises differently for each) without an individual agenda of some sort, be it financial gain, power or just plain "i have a uniform so I'm better than you"

Rare indeed today is the person who joins for the common good and honest reasons, and they dont usually last long in either field..

Scotland has a progressive government on issues such as this and they should be commended for their efforts to integrate ethnic minorities not condemn them as scroungers and a bunch of terrorist infiltrators. This is a good example.

Quite right, Irn ...and as so many of these ladies have had to serve in their own nations military units - it's required in their home countries but once they come to America and they are qualified to perform a law enforcement job yet can't due to the type of uniform restrictions Scotland's Hijab Police 2190311264

Well, better thinking adults thought through a 'WIN - WIN' situation and put those military trained women into a service job that they could do and were well suited for!
