Should Queen Elizabeth II Skip Prince Charles & Hand The Crown Over To Prince William
Queen Elizabeth II - Could She/Would She Leave Her Reign to Prince William
This is just something I've kicked around since Princess Diana's time and I've wondered about the feasibility of this; so I thought I'd just put it out here Whether it's something that could be/should be/would never happen ...I'm curious!
And Prince William & Kate were just on the NBC News - traveling to Canada.
So vote and leave a comment - I won't expect this to change anything at Buckingham Palace!

I think a better question is "should she"?.
Chuck was possibly complicit in Diana's death. If she wasn't murdered by Mi5 at Phils command, his unloading of his loins into his lover certainly drove Di to look elsewhere for her orgasms.

Hmmm, you didn't read the options for voting and you didn't VOTE!
Psst, (b) "should she", might have been the perfect option for you.

You didn't get picked up on your "Diana murder conspiracy" comment HA.
Would be a different story had Tommy said it.
Anyhoo, I think the queen needs to step down and hand the crown over to William.

A lot of the event is still shrouded in mystery.
Most compelling is the motive, pregnant by a Muslim, opportunity, in a contained area, and the cover up,the 60 min delay in admitting Di to hospital and she was disembowrlled and embalmed within an hour of being pronounced dead.
I will give the establishment credit for covering it up well if they were involved, but there is enough good circumstantial evidence to ask serious questions.

Please start a thread HA. I want to see how differently the thread transpires when you say it as opposed to Tommy. Most people on here don't really step outside of boundaries when they lost because they're aware others are watching.
That's why so much bullshit gets posted.
It will be a real eye-opener as well as an interesting topic.....and I happen to agree with you.

Queenie can't hand over to William. She won't abdicate, she would view it as a gross dereliction of duty. If she did though, Charles is next in line.

Voted, 4EVER.
Even tho it might seem unfair for Charles and Camilla to become the new king and queen, given everything that's gone on before, I'm afraid the constitution dictates that this should happen. No if's or but's I'm afraid.
Poor Diana. No one said the world was fair! Goodnight pet. x

Correct Miffs....unfortunately Charles is next in line, which is possibly why the queen is still queen at 90 years of age.

I think Charles is a good, he is less showy than diana was but still does as much for charities.
besides in his defense with diana, like it isn't obvious that harry is not his. he is the spitting image of the military dude she used to sleep with

Well, that's a thought! And a quietly handled DNA would clarify that right off but we'd never know about it - not in our life time anyway.
But those boys sure resembled each other so closely and I thought they both looked more 'Spencer' side of the family tree {lucky for them} then their dear daddy's side!

nope look closer
both diana and her brother have a 'bulb point' nose
harry and james have slight 'ski jump' nose shape
Charles (like his mum) also has a 'Bulb point' nose.
also brow line harry and james straigth across
diana's brother is inward curved

Miff's is right. Charles will become King, the Queen can't shift the inheritance right to William, and imo she shouldn't. The monarchy may play for popularity at times, but who wears the crown is not a popularity contest.

I don't think Charles wants to be King. I think he's happy living with his plants and the love of his life, his Camilla.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II - Could She/Would She Leave Her Reign to Prince William
Whilst the QE2 at 88 is still as sharp as a pin,Chuck in his 60's already looks, acts and sounds like a doddery old man. I think the royal advisors may suggest that when the Queen does step aside, it will really boost the royal institution and it's popularity by skipping Charles and having a dashing young (ish) king in Wills and a beautiful wife and kids.
Charles would stay as a paternal and wise council to Wills.
My fear is if Charles does take over, there will be a huge disconnect between him and the population. He isn't wholly popular, is often a target for ridicule and Camilla is actually loathed,or at least looked upon as a marriage wrecking in many quarters.

The Queen was pretty unpopular for a while, especially after Di died (trying saying that lol). He won't long be king though, then the people get their popular young king. In the meantime, Will and Harry will ensure noone is too upset at bigears sitting on the throne

I do...it's a fascinating subject, not only for history, but for contemporary politics.
Britain is an hereditary monarchy. Of course it's not up to the Queen. Henry VIII tried to change things with a couple of Acts of Succession, and look what it got him...after Edward VI, he got his two daughters, whom he had delegitimized by annulling his marriages to both mothers.
If Charles was implicated in Diana's death, it would pose some interesting questions for British criminal justice, but it wouldn't change the succession. However, I reckon it wouldn't get that far...like Dick Cheney, they would rather sweep it under the rug.
Unless someone comes up with a new kind of disqualification for Harry, he's in line with the rest of 'em. After all, does anyone think Edward III was the genetic offspring of Edward II??

Some do, I have no idea why. But I suspect it has something to do with why some Americans love the Kardashians -- they're famous for being famous and have all these tawdry scandals and controversies.

Well, she did some real good in the world too, I can see that.
Being from Texas, I've gotten some crazy questions over the years -- do you hang out at the Alamo all the time? Are the roads paved? Does everyone ride a horse instead of driving a car?
(No, the Alamo is just 25 miles closer to where I live than London is to Paris ... Of course the damn roads are paved ... Yes, we do.)
