I tell it as it is!! He's let himself go.
Dunno what went wrong with this site last night, eddie.
Cos forumotion usually gives plenty of advance warning if they want to shut their sites down for routine maintenance, plus they usually redirect to an explanatory message.
But it seemed more a case of VERY slow loading of the home page.
Anyway glad it's back to normal now, fingers x'd.

And let's not get too caught up in the new place anyway -- this here site appears to be all fixed up, and the Lifeboat site is just a pale imitation.

Seems to have been something that affected a lot of forumotion sites. There's also a small matter where I screwed up when I filled out the form to claim ownership of this site and have now had to send GoDaddy a copy of my driver's license ...

Great thank you Eddie while busily fighting off the multies that are Phil and JD let alone the other idiots that have nowhere to go
Bunging NF onto a paid platform would be easy and inexpensive, just leave a sign on the door of the old place and people get the message. You can host where you want and you can simply move if there's some huge downtime, what did you get, ten days?

That might actually be our best bet. Please tell me more about this Bunging of NF onto a paid platform.
Re: In case we go offline again.....
I had a community on ProBoards - didn't last long the members started tossing hand grenades and posting personal information right as my mom was dying so I just closed the doors.
But the page layout is much easier on the eyes - none of that 'NEON PURPLE' whatever that other page was ...and even your avatar isn't that scary, Ben. Just a bad HAIR DAY?

Only thing is, I really like the way this site is set up and it hosts so much content now, after more than three years. There's just a lot to look at here, I hate the concept of starting over with an empty forum.
And as far as I know, FM doesn't allow you to export your site to another server.

Hmmm, since it's a 'FREEBIE' community and ProBoards allows other server communities in ...Hmmm, that's a valid question.
What would stop Forumotion if they didn't OWN YOUR COMMUNITY?

It's mainly news and a bit of bitching about Digital Spy forum, there's gossip and chatter stuff going on all the time in the Arms. It's evolved as things do naturally, changed a lot but still enough to keep four of us on our toes
