Police investigate new abuction attempt on soldier at Aldershot base
Police are investigating an attempted abduction of a soldier at the Aldershot Garrison in Hampshire – just weeks after a similar incident outside an RAF base in Marham. Soldiers based at the garrison have been told not to wear their uniform when travelling to or from work until further notice, the British Forces Broadcasting Service reported. The briefing came after two men in a blue Renault Clio tried to abduct a soldier near the main Garrison Church.
The attempted abduction reportedly happened around 8.15am this morning.
A spokesman from Hampshire Police confirmed officers were called to a “suspicious incident at the junction between Queens Avenue and Hospital Hill, Aldershot”.
He added: "Two men were seen acting suspiciously in a blue Renault Clio.
"At this stage there is nothing to suggest that a crime has been committed but we are looking into why the two men had stopped the car on this stretch of road
"No contact was made between the two men and the person reporting the incident.”
“Anyone who may have seen a blue Renault Clio with two men inside in the area this morning is asked to contact us on 101, quoting 44160289416."
The incident comes just weeks after two men, one armed with a knife, reportedly tried to abduct a serviceman who was out jogging near an RAF base in Marham, Norfolk on July 20.
Officers have scoured CCTV and received a number of calls following the incident in which the airman was able to defend himself before running away to get help.
The is currently no indication that the two kidnap attempts are linked.

Not linked?
I think they are about as linked as you are going to get.
Anyway, they are going about this all the wrong way.
Call in the SAS, have 4 man teams set up ambushes, with a shoot to kill policy for anyone attempting to kidnap a soldier.
You will soon have this problem solved over night.
It will show we are not going to fuck about being nice anymore
