Queen to release new track featuring vocals of Freddie Mercury
Brian May has spoken about releasing a new Queen track featuring the late Freddie Mercury.
“I had a great day in the studio today anyway, even before the welcome news,” the band’s guitarist revealed on his official website.
“And some Queen magic is happening… I can feel it in my bones. It’s annoying to have to be so secretive, but I guess I have to, for now.”
He added: “What I can say is the track we dusted off has the four of us – Freddie, John, Roger and myself – playing together on a track we’d all forgotten about.
“It sounds so fresh. I got quite emotional hearing some of it… some rough takes, some discussion and banter, and then a really good take, and some overdubs, and… well, it’s crying out to be finally brought into the world.
“I can’t help but feel a buzz. I’m energised again.”
Freddie Mercury died aged 45 of bronchopneumonia brought on by AIDS on 24 November 1991, only one day after publicly acknowledging that he had the disease.
He continues to be voted one of the greatest singers in the history of popular music.
Last November marked the 22nd anniversary of Freddie Mercury’s death.
Several celebrities including Eastenders actress June Brown and a Radio 1 DJ Annie Nightingale attended the launch party of a new Kindle memoir about Mercury’s former relationship with Jim Hutton in honour of the special date.

I've seen plenty of documentaries about him and his life, to know that he wouldn't have minded a jot about it. ...The royalties will go to the people that he loved as well.
