'off-grid' parenting

This couple made the news a few days ago, after they didn't allow their kids to go to school, have inoculations and was still breastfeeding her 5 year old son. Then today they appeared on Good Morning and one of the kids peed on the floor because they also don't believe in nappies. They also refuse modern medicine.
Adele used the family's appearance on the show to explain her unusual approach to modern medicine, shunning conventional treatments when her children had scarlet fever and chicken pox.
'We treated it naturally. We believe in the body to self heal,' she said. 'If you support the body's healing through supplements and herbs then you it will heal.
'I don't believe that bringing a fever down artificially helps the body. I believe a fever is there for a purpose to clean the body out.'
Mmmm..... if the kid gets diphtheria and chokes to death, or ends up in an iron lung with polio she might eat those fucking words.

There are some things in our current society you can't ignore. The prevention of disease is one of them. Socially, how will her kids cope later on in life? Will they be classed as 'weird' or 'odd' because they have no idea how to behave or interact socially with other people?

It's a bit icky to be breastfeeding a child above about two. They shouldn't be filling up in a mother's milk when they should be eating food.
Sorry, I'd want my boobs back to be used for sex. Simple as that. A child can have them for a while but then they're mine.

Now, these two parents have set up a GoFundMe account asking the public to donate 100k so they can live a carefree life in warmer climes. WTF? Are these two nutjobs for real? It wouldn't surprise me if 'dad' was on the tit too.

Yep..
The term "off grid" means providing one's own water, power, waste disposal, means of communications; i.e. not being directly reliant on local power grids, town water and sewerage systems, regular telehone systems..
It doesn't mean child abuse through wilful neglect.

I don't think that pic looks real.
But if this woman is doing this then I think she shouldn't be.

It would be one thing to do so in a news article in which the photo is the news. In this case, the photo's not the news, and nobody feels like debating whether that photo has been altered, they want to debate whether this family is doing right by their children.
