You've been, want to go, or simply like.
I checked out Louisana on recommendation. Now you'll have to help me out here Ben, as when I googled lousiana images I wanted to make sure this was the French region?

Yes, most of those look like the French Quarter in New Orleans. I don't recognize all of them, though. And there are other places in Louisiana with a lot of French character.
Here are some images from the small Cajun town of Arnaudville:

Okay so some of my relatives are Cajun? I remember my paternal grandmother telling me, but I never asked where they were from, and my mum can't remember and my dad isn't around to ask obviously.

They might have lived in Canada, actually -- where they called themselves Acadians. After the American Revolution, a lot of them went to Canada, and of course, people go back and forth between the UK and Canada.

Yes someone else said that to me. David a poster that used to post here and other forums.
I know that I have distant relatives in Corsica, the French half obviously. I really should've written everything down as a kid. I'll probably never know now.

It's a beautiful place! Lots of North American cities still show a lot of the culture of the original settlers.
Near Taos, New Mexico is a pueblo that has been inhabited for over 1,000 years:
Leavenworth, Washington -- modeled after a Medieval Bavarian village:

A dear friend and her family are in Japan; her 25 yr old son is marrying the young lady of his life in their traditional ceremony with her family - then they'll be flying back to California and having their American ceremony Saturday. She sent out some of her favorite photo images of the sights that she's seen. Some of these are post cards provided by the Arts & Architecture group Mt. Fuji > mother natures cloud stacking - amazing
Her son's future FIL not only is a banker but his passion is photography and now his wife's sister has passed her masters class in photography and has her prints showing up in many commercial projects as well.
It's been suggested that when she's ready to purge her old files and needs to make space that those old hard copies be sent to America - we'd all
gladly pay the postage!
