Get out now! Furious EU leader demands Britain makes quick exit from the EU as Prime Minister David Cameron resigns and global markets plummet over historic referendum vote to leave Europe
Furious European Parliament President Martin Schulz has demanded the UK makes a quick exit from the EU following the shock result of Thursday's referendum.
Schulz said the UK's relationship with the EU had been ambiguous, but was 'now clear' and a prolonged exit was 'the opposite of what we need'. He added that it was difficult to accept that 'a whole continent is taken hostage because of an internal fight in the Tory party'.
And the presidents of the EU's main institutions said in a statement today that they expect London to act on the decision to leave 'as soon as possible, however painful that process may be'.
EU Council President Donald Tusk, Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, Schulz and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said 'any delay would unnecessarily prolong uncertainty'.
Prime Minister David Cameron, who on Friday announced he will resign, had suggested that formal notification of Britain's departure might not come before October.

He's FURIOUS? How curious!
The more I look at this from a calm, and pretty much non-biased stance, the more I see that the EU are a big bunch of wealthy bullies. They're furious that someone chose to leave their gang? Shouting "Get out!"
Lol
And now all the horror stories that spin out of the woodwork and the fact that everyone on the left (or on NF) actually seems to be wanting to lap it all up!
Instead of keeping a clear head and waiting and supporting eachother - you've all bought into the stories spinning out of the angry camp (if these stories don't pan out to be true I will call them "conspiracies" for want of a better word).
The big EU bosses are unhappy. Why? Because it's going to affect their pocket! This is all about keeping those big fat wealthy man (you know, the ones the left hate!) wealthy.
And now this has brought about the true colours of the left: "Look how this affects ME!"
Well 50% of people voted out because they've been saying 'look how this is affecting me' for years, and no one cared. L
So really as well as eveyune being a little bit racist - we've learned that everyone is just as selfish.
Look at the EU grown man's tantrum.
Look at yourselves. L
I've never seen such a complete angry bunch of people who have shown that really, deep down, they're not about what's best for their fellow man, it's what's best for them.
We've always known the right was considered selfish, well now we know that there's as much selfishness on the left - it's just hidden under a pile of pretence.
Wait and see what happens. Don't buy into every horror story (some of them might be conspiracies guys to get you all stirred up) and deal with what you're given.
if you can't change something, then change how you deal with it.

I agree after reading a similar article on sky news Eddie.
Like i say its imperative we lok to negotiate with the EU from a very strong position where we need to negotiate and set up all Non-EU trade deals first.
The UK should tell the EU, that no longer have they any say when britain will decide on setting a date and that they should simply get stuffed..
Its not going to happen until a new leader is chosen and had time to settle into the role.

well if they want to dissuade other from leaving it is in their interests to make sure you fall and fall hard and the best way to do that is to force you to act before you are ready. So i wouldn't be surprised if they don't wait for you to elect a leader.
I was 50/50 on how they would react but it is not good for England.
the analogy to bullies is just naive, you at least had a vote
if anyone it is the England that as a historical bully that has been so used to getting it's way that it has thrown a tantrum and chucked dinner on the floor now that it has to accept being just part of a group.
the Idea the UK will ever be on par with the EU (unless it starts bleeding members) is delusional. it has Multiple members equal to you. the UK will never have the powerful position in negotiation.

and...theres actually fuck all they can do about it...
they are hoist by their own petard...
their own regulations are quite clear....
WE have to give THEM formal notification to start the process....
there is NO mechansm to allow them to expel a member that would be any quicker........

yeah..but...there is still "law" to consider....
they are constrained by their own rules
however...I do happen to think that he (junker) has a point....
uncertainty is NOT good when prolonged and we should start the process ASAP....like monday....
prolonging the process is not good for us OR them and we should recognise that.....
as for not having a negotiating position...you would be surprised....
we could...if we wanted...just walk away...today...
a mechanism exists for that too....but that would casue absolute chaos...and leave a lot of untidy "ends"
so the 2 year route is much better......

Well many idividual EU countries will want to negotiate, when they also do plenty of buisness with UK, espcially Germany and key players within the EU are going to want to be able to trade with the UK.
So as to Blancket, he is dependent on all states being in agreement and pressure will tell from within the EU states to have a deal
Even more so if the Uk is able to make good trade deals with all the Non-EU nations it needs to before even sitting down with the EU, to further ensuire being in a better and stronger position that the EU. As the EU has countries they constantly have to bail out
I think its now relevant that we have a sour grapes thread for the lefties not getting their way.
I hear excuses after excuse and yet I accept that we had the chance to decide and simply not evough people either cared to vote to at all or did not care enough about either staying in or out of the EU.
As stated a few days before, that the leavers were always going to turn out in max support.
What I have not heard single point on is the many camapigns for the remain clearly being a part of the reason that not enough people voted to remain, all this nonsense about age groups, is just

Vic, on that we can agree, waiting until the Tory Party Conference would cause immense problems to everyone.

No it will notcause immense problems.
You see you are just making things up, when the EU will have to wait until the UK is ready to sit down.
Blancket is just throwing his dummies out and there is a two year transition period.
So if there is this time frame, then no amount of time, is going to make the slightest bit of difference unless that reach the two year period

The G7 said that the UK economy and financial sector remain resilient, and that they are confident that Britain is “well-positioned” to address the consequences of the referendum outcome.
Seems some are getting over their tantrums and common sense is breaking out.

We are being rinsed out by being in the eu... we have now voted to regain our democracy!!!
We can still trade with eu.
So why such a fuss unless the eu was a log more than just trade and was really about taking control... which they have always said it wasn't...

These hard long negotiated/bartered documents for: 'you send worker into my country and I'll allow this trade skilled workers into your country - you sell me your quality automobiles - and I'll sell you my tractors/farm machinery - you allow me this price range - and I'll allow you duty free market pricing for your inventory'
This goes into the very food that may or may not be available to be sold in your fresh fruit & veggie stands that you frequent; if those duty fee's are pulled and that market share is now at the mercy of 'France' and they've got their labor wage workers to appease ...who the hell do you think they are going to pass along that price hike too?
Well, it sure won't be the French citizens --- your cost for any French product just went up proportionally to their countries labor problems and its all because of that 'OUT' vote that so many of you are thumping your chest about!
DO YOU GET IT NOW?

LOL ...now you're asking the questions that you might have ...well, in your case it wouldn't matter because you'd not believe the data that was out there pre-vote!Tommy Monk wrote:And of course we are in a much stronger position because we are going to be in total control over our country and not a puppet on a string under eu dictatorial control!!!

But now that the Pandora's Box has been opened and the EU is threatening to kick your sorry arse's to the curb way before the 2 year option for 'formal resignation papers' are served; the propect of retro-fitting all manufactured goods & services to a marketable price is going to be such an interesting endeavor ...
And since the options for cheap labor would be ...well some immigrants like what Turkey is using - you'd be left with negotiations with China or India
The tough choices facing Britain outside
In none of our scenarios would the cost of leaving the single market and the EU customs union be off-set by merely striking a new trade deal with the EU. Britain will only prosper outside the EU if it is prepared to use its new found freedom to undertake active steps towards trade liberalization and deregulation. It faces a series of difficult choices:
- Beyond the border: Opening up the UK economy to trade with the rest of the world – including the USA, India, China and Indonesia – is essential to economic growth post-Brexit. However, this would mean exposing UK firms and workers to whole new levels of competition from low-cost countries, and would therefore be politically very sensitive.
- On the border: In order to be competitive outside the EU, Britain would need to keep a liberal policy for labour migration. However, of those voters who want to leave the EU, a majority rank limiting free movement and immigration as their main motivation, meaning the UK may move in the opposite direction.
- Behind the border: EU rules have largely been incorporated into UK law, and would remain in force until the UK Parliament decided to amend or scrap them. Outside the EU, we estimate that a very liberally inclined UK government could in theory cut the cost of the most burdensome EU regulations by an amount equivalent to between 0.7% and 1.3% of GDP.
http://openeurope.org.uk/intelligence/britain-and-the-eu/what-if-there-were-a-brexit/
BTW - for someone that is so hysteria driven for conspiracy theories ...I'm still finding it quite telling that you can't/haven't managed to track the places that all of the Russian money coming into your sainted Island is being put to use

Those in charge at the EU only care about their positions and power within the EU.
A sensible President, would have stated they are sad to see the Uk leave but would hope that as things improve that the door is always open again for them to rejoin. Instead he has acted at the most extreme immaturity
Also as the Eu has to abide by international law and the EU can do zero, unless they want to find themselves in court, for breaking the terms and conditions of that treaty.
I would be happy if the EU did that, they would be fucked, as the Uk could then screw them for everything they have got

Those in charge of the EU have just had the shock of their lives. The EU president has done himself no favours with his attitude, he sees his little empire crumbling and he is not a happy man.Didge wrote:Those in charge at the EU only care about their positions and power within the EU.

Now we never told them to fuck off, people voted democratically and the leave votes won. 16 million voted to stay, so are you saying the EU is justified to tell them to fuck off, after turning out for themn? That is gratitude for you. Again its a piis poor attitude because as stated, you should always leave the door open for people to rejoin, as Governements and the people who run themare forever changing.
Even the Germans have berated the EU presidency over its immature attitude, as they are meant to be respresenting hundreds of millions of peop[le. What sort of message does that give out in regards to how from the very beginning it was the EU themselves that refused to mnake concessions.

considering that for years they have been telling us to "fuck off" at every opportunity what did they expect....
and from whats comming out of germany just now it seems that even MERKEL has realised that actually the blame lies in one spot.....the hands of Junker...that eu dictator who by steath took over the entire EU on his own....... to say she is pissed with him is likely an understatment the next few days will be interesting as the realisation of that hits the other eu leaders.....

+1
Indeed, as there is already other EU nations sitting on the fence and after this display Nems, I am starting to think the time was right to leave, but I do feel that at a later date we could rejoin and under better conditions.

But it's only about trade isn't it...!?
And they want to sell us much more than we sell to them!!!
So we are the choosers... not the beggars!!!
But now that the Pandora's Box has been opened and the EU is threatening to kick your sorry arse's to the curb way before the 2 year option for 'formal resignation papers' are served; the propect of retro-fitting all manufactured goods & services to a marketable price is going to be such an interesting endeavor ...
And since the options for cheap labor would be ...well some immigrants like what Turkey is using - you'd be left with negotiations with China or IndiaThe tough choices facing Britain outside

BTW - for someone that is so hysteria driven for conspiracy theories ...I'm still finding it quite telling that you can't/haven't managed to track the places that all of the Russian money coming into your sainted Island is being put to use
Irony, sarcasm and satire are all lost on you...
They have always pretended the eu is only about trade...
But now they are trying to tell us it isn't...
I won't be surprised if you don't understand the relevance of this point...

Indeed Nems
And for balance and to show the EU leadership was out of order.
Francois Hollande, French President
"This is a painful choice and it is deeply regrettable both for the UK and Europe. But this choice is theirs and we must respect it, accepting all the consequences.
"The British vote is a tough test for Europe."
Full statement (in French)
Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany
"We take note of the British people's decision with regret. There is no doubt that this is a blow to Europe and to the European unification process."
Mrs Merkel said that because of its history, Germany has "a particular interest and a particular responsibility" to make European unity a success.
Barack Obama, US President
"The people of the United Kingdom have spoken, and we respect their decision. The special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom is enduring, and the United Kingdom's membership in Nato remains a vital cornerstone of US foreign, security, and economic policy.
"So too is our relationship with the European Union, which has done so much to promote stability, stimulate economic growth, and foster the spread of democratic values and ideals across the continent and beyond.
"The United Kingdom and the European Union will remain indispensable partners of the United States even as they begin negotiating their ongoing relationship to ensure continued stability, security, and prosperity for Europe, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the world."

Don't be a miserable fucker and enjoy the fact that rain gives us water.
Or you could blame the weather on the vote?
