Donald Trump just took a big dip in a major poll
First topic message reminder :
Yahoo Politics wrote:Donald Trump just took a nosedive in the latest Fox News poll.
Released on Thursday, Trump dropped six points from his position in last month's Fox poll. In May, Trump held a 45% to 42% lead over the now presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton.
But this month, Trump found himself trailing Clinton by a 42% to 39% spread.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee lost three points with self-identified Republicans and a whopping 11 points with independents.
The poll surveyed 1,004 registered voters from June 5 to 8. The margin of error was plus or minus 3 points.
The results coincide with what's been a less-than-stellar week for Trump. He's been caught up in his latest self-inflicted firestorm — this time relating to attacks he's launched at a federal judge over his Mexican heritage.
The Manhattan billionaire said that US District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel cannot fairly preside over a civil case involving his now defunct for-profit real-estate school, Trump University, because he is of Mexican descent and Trump will be "building a wall" along the US-Mexico border if elected in the fall. Curiel is from Indiana.
Republicans from all sides of the party have publicly condemned the remarks and demanded that Trump change his tone. In a Tuesday-afternoon statement, Trump took a step back from the attacks but did not apologize. He made no mention of his attacks against the judge in his prepared post-primary speech later that night.

What about when people on here lump all Muslims or all refugees into one group, going solely on what they've witnessed first hand, read, heard etc?
You have a say about that (and righty so) - so how is that different to what you're doing?
I bet there are scores of people willing to testify that Trump is a good guy who's nothing like you describe.

You've gotta group people in order to sort things out. The question is, is it the correct grouping. I can single out Trump supporters and say they are racists and bigots...because they are. I can't single out Muslims and say they are all terrorists and bomb throwers...because they aren't.
False groups are generally not the result of "what they've witnessed first hand..." The perps begin by believing it, then go looking for confirmation. Look at our Muslim-thumpers on here. Do you think they've seen anything that causes their beliefs? No, of course not. They started out as Tories, and went looking.

I don't know of any of your last paragraph is true, it's the chicken and the egg tbh.
You may have met many Trump supporters and not known. It's presumptuous to think in that rigid way.

Polling has been done that shows most Trump supporters are pretty racist. About one in five disagree with the Emancipation Proclamation. You read that right -- they think slavery shouldn't have been ended.

I'm not being pedantic but I'd have to see the questions in the poll - the label "racist" is not one I'd trust, as some abuse it.

People who drink deny driving. They claim "they ain't drunk, jus' havin' a good time." Perhaps the category 'drunk driver' is fictitious.

It doesn't get much more clear-cut racist than wishing black people were still enslaved, does it?
TRUMP - 'CHEETO JESUS' according to a GOP Operative

GOP Operative Lashes Out At Party, Calls Trump ‘Cheeto Jesus’ In Epic TweetstormRick Wilson says the RNC is “covered in stench” for not pushing back against the businessman.
06/16/2016 08:34 am ET
Rick Wilson, GOP presidential consultant and active member of the Never Trump movement, has just unleashed his latest tirade against Donald Trump on Twitter, calling the presumptive Republican nominee “Cheeto Jesus.” And he’s bashed the Republican National Committee in the process.
Wilson said in the tweets posted Thursday that the RNC is covered in Trump’s “stench,” given that they’re ultimately responsible for their party’s candidate.
That’s despite Trump’s camp being displeased with the RNC for not throwing overwhelming support behind the candidate, according to Politico. A campaign official said that they wouldn’t be taking much advice from RNC chairman Reince Priebus.
Many in the Republican Party were upset over Trump’s response to Sunday’s Orlando massacre, after he congratulated himself for being “right on Islamic terrorism.”
Check out last night’s tweetstorm:

I've chosen to leave the C & P of those tweet words out of this post ...but if you need to read them {and they are quite graphic} click on the link!
But OMG ...this was one of the best - BEST Chump-Trump smack downs todate! "CHEETO JESUS" ...

They deny driving? Don't you mean they deny drinking?
Well, you can go anywhere with the analogy. A drunk driver denies he's breaking the law. The Trump supporter denies he's a racist. So it's all down to the proof.
Is saying a Mexican Judge can't be fair, or is a rapist and a murder, a little bit beyond the pale? So why, without specific proof, would you make such a claim? On faith? Erm...would that be a faith in racism?

I've been saying that for years. British racists are wimp compared to our rednecks. It's like you guys are playing parlor games, while our crackers are perfecting the craft. Lol.

Sorry 'CHEETO JESUS', even the NRA thinks you're WRONG ...
Well, when the NRA is speaking out and letting it be known that you are going against the very 'letter of the law' ...and your loud rhetoric is just beyond STUPID ...perhaps the message that is ever so slowing sinking in; that 'Cheeto Jesus' is going to FAIL and FAIL HUGE as your choice for POTUS in 2016!NRA Officials Say People Drinking at Clubs Shouldn't Be Armed
June 22 - 2016 By Irene Delgado
"That defies common sense". That also defies the law.
But NRA officials said Sunday that having armed patrons in bars with alcohol was not such a good idea.
"What happened this past week is the president, the whole gun ban movement said look over here, divert your attention, take your eyes off the problem", LaPierre said Sunday during an appearance on on CBS' Face the Nation.
"If Trump does not support both of these amendments, and I encourage you to ask him, then his words hold no weight", Gross said. "With today's internet technology we should be able to tell within 72 hours if a potential gun owner has a record". "And they're going for vulnerable spots, and this country needs to realize it".
Last Wednesday, the billionaire businessman tweeted that he would "be meeting with the NRA, who has endorsed me, about not allowing people on the terrorist watch list, or the no fly list, to buy guns".
In 2012, Trump tweeted that President Barack Obama had "spoken for me and every American" in his remarks at a vigil for the Newtown school shooting victims.
"What Donald Trump has said is what the American people know is common sense, that if somebody had been there to stop this faster, fewer people would have died", he said.
The U.S. Supreme Court may also weigh in on the gun control issue in the coming week.
Want more hot BPR News stories?
Donald Trump stepped back Monday morning from his controversial comments suggesting that the massacre in an Orlando gay nightclub might have not been as bad had patrons been armed.
In a statement Wednesday, the NRA said its policy remains that the FBI should investigate anyone on a terror watch list who tries to buy a gun. The justices are due to announce as soon as Monday whether to hear a challenge by gun rights advocates to assault weapon bans in two states.
However, the NRA's Cox said on "This Week", "There is not a difference between what Mr. Trump is saying and what the NRA's position is".
Heading into another crucial week - the Senate votes on gun control measures today and the presumptive GOP candidate meets with party conservatives tomorrow - it's unclear whether Trump will be able to regain ground any time soon.
The Connecticut and NY laws prohibit semiautomatic weapons like the one used by Mateen, who committed the mass killing in Orlando with guns he bought legally.
The last Senate vote on gun legislation was in December following the San Bernardino, Calif., shooting in which 14 people were killed.
"I admit that the background checks bill is going to be tough to get 60 votes on", Murphy said.

What has happened, in the chess game, is that the anti-gun people have finally found a situation of cross-tensions for the gun lovers. Gun lovers, RW'rs to the core, are also those who hate Muslims and feel stung with every Muslim-related outburst.
Democrats in Congress have drafted a bill that says if you are on the Muslim no-fly list, you can't buy a gun. What-do-do, what-to-do...moan the RW'rs. On the one hand, you don't want to curb the right to guns, on the other you don't want to help the Muslim-extremists. And lo, here you are handing them guns.
I love it when LW'rs are playing chess. They kick RW ass every time. Republicans handing Muslim extremists weapons...perfect!

Re: Donald Trump just took a big dip in a major poll
THE FACT that Trump has been sliding downhill in the ratings over this past month -- from a high of nearly 40% approval when he was touring through the Deep South and mid-West preaching to those small groups gun freaks and religious nutters in city halls and churches, back down to the 28% or so he started with -- just shows how certain right wing and sensationalist media outlets can try and manipulate by focussing in on the local scenarios, and ignoring the 'big picture'...
EVEN MORE telling, could be the latest tidbit, where the Trump campaign only had $1.3 million in their war chest a couple of days ago; while the Cinton campaign had over $41 million in campaign funds.. (And there's serious mutterings on the sidelines that Trumps true "wealth" may be much less than the "10 billion" that he himself claimed -- especially considering that a lot of the investment in properties bearing his brand names, is actually other peoples' money !).
IT DOES seem that while a lot of those rednecks a few weeks ago were happy to claim the Don as 'their man', not a lot of them are so ready to put their money where their mouths are ?
