Australians tipped to lose their religion
http://www.news.com.au/national/faith-in-the-spotlight-as-australians-tipped-to-lose-their-religion/news-story/0b9626b05bf1ee796bf5700bc7d99193
A PUSH for Australians to mark “no religion” in the 2016 Census could see Christianity overtaken as the most popular “religion” and change the way government policy is made and projects funded in Australia.
It’s a subtle change, but overseas experience is that moving the “no religion” option to the top of the list of responses on the question of religion saw a dramatic rise in the number of people identifying with a particular faith.
This year’s Census has done that, with the option moved to the top of the list of possible responses to the “What is the person’s religion?” question for the first time since the “no religion” option was introduced in 1991. The “Catholic” option moves to second on the list.
Among those advocating the “mark no religion” initiative is the Atheist Foundation of Australia (AFA), which says the results could have huge impacts on the way governments spend money on welfare and education.
“Census data is used by governments to make important funding decisions like assigning chaplains to hospitals, schools, prisons and armed services, for planning educational facilities, for aged care and other social services,” AFA president Kylie Sturgess said.
“Many of those services are run by religious-based organisations. Since the government relies on Census data to decide on funding and policy for these things, it’s important the Census data is correct. Accurate Census data matters.
“We are a secular country, and we would like to see whether or not people are actually reflecting upon what we think is a secular country and saying yes, it truly is, and demonstrating it in Census data.”

THOSE New Age "Athiests" currently assaulting Australia are a bunch of delusional wankers...
IN THE 2011 Census, those affiliating with some religion was over 68%, Christianity was 61.1 %, not given/undecided over 9% --- barely 22.3% stated "no religion" !
AND those athiest fools want us to believe that they will have nearly tripled their numbers in only five years ???

Next step -- governments not even asking what religion people believe or don't believe in. What business is it of theirs?

And that is what is exactly wrong with the leftist mindset.
If it was not for problems with those religions, nobody would have to state what religion there are as people would have no reason to be prejudiced against religion. You will find it is religious people being bigoted and prejudiced against other religions simply by default of the religion itself, which views other beliefs as wrong. Its the same with racism, if we did not have racial claissifications, how then could people then be racist if there is nothing to base racism on. You simply would protect people from discrimination based on prejudice itself.
All you would do then is rewrite the discrmination laws to state nobody should be discriminated against because of their beliefs, ethnicity, gender, disabilities, size, skin colour etc.
Again the athiests are right about funding as why should religious groups recieve a special exempt from the likes of tax avoidance and even more so more funding simply because they are religious.
3 so called advicates of equality are promoting inequality it seems, as again it should not matter what belief you have to then have equal funding. Again the very concept of religious schools brings about inequality as they are the only system that is allowed to activelly discriminate on entry to those schools.
When is the left mindset going to understand that they constantly conflict with equality

No kidding! WTF do they have to ask anyway? It's like, '...and what size condom do you wear?' It's nobody's fookin' business.
And don't fool yourself...it's all going into a big NSA computer in Washington. Anymore, when some canvasser or sales person asks me an irrelevant question like that, I walk, do not respond, just walk.

as attendance is down to 15%, 61% seems unreasonably high.
and irreligion is not Atheism, Atheism is a small subsect of the irreligious.
if Christianity is not the default, then lets see how high it is, I am willing to bet it is going to drop heaps without the statistical assistance on weighted polling
