Interesting to contrast the recent pronouncement of a member of the U.S. congress:

... with this finding:

(N)ewly published research ... finds people who study science — or who are even momentarily exposed to the idea of scientific research — are more likely to condemn unethical behavior and more inclined to help others.

“Thinking about science leads individuals to endorse more stringent moral norms,” report psychologists Christine Ma-Kellams of Harvard University and Jim Blascovich of the University of California, Santa Barbara. Their research is published in the online journal PLOS One.

That must be why conservative politicians hate science so much. It runs afoul of unethical business practices, bigotry and the irrational fear of helping their fellow man.

Also, that guy in the video can't be a scientist. He would have made all "Fs" throughout school. He is a religionist.

Yeah, I just *love* that he calls himself a scientist and proceeds to crap upon some of the pillars of peer-reviewed science.
