Hubble takes awe-inspiring images of ancient galaxies
This long-exposure image of massive galaxy cluster Abell 2744, taken with the Hubble Space Telescope, is the deepest ever made of any galaxy cluster. It shows some of the faintest and earliest galaxies ever detected in space. (NASA, ESA, and J. Lotz, M. Mountain, A. Koekemoer, and the HFF Team (STScI))

I looked this up -- the Milky Way is so vast, if you started at one edge and traveled across it to the other at the speed of light, the journey would take 100,000 years.
Each speck in that photo is a galaxy (at least most of them are).

Yes...mistakes were made during the administration of President George H. W. Bush, a Republican.

I always thought it was a miracle that they were ever able to use it to take images like the one above after all the screw-ups. We really were looking at millions of dollars of carefully, but not carefully enough, -designed space junk for a while. Now I think it's worth it

It's nice that they recovered it. But Bee is right in that it cost millions of dollars.
