Yellowstone baby bison euthanised after visitors put it in their SUV
Officials have repeated their warning to visitors at the park not to touch the animals
What started out as an apparently well-intentioned move by tourists who placed a young bison in the back of their vehicle because they believed it looked cold, has ended in no small sadness.
On Monday, officials at Yellowstone National Park revealed that the calf had to be put down after being rejected by its herd.
“The bison calf was later euthanised because it was abandoned and causing a dangerous situation by continually approaching people and cars along the roadway,” the park said in a statement.
The incident last week when the bison was loaded into the trunk of an SUV because the tourists believed it looked cold, led to fresh warnings that park rules require visitors to stay at least 25 yards from all wildlife and 100 yards from bears and wolves.
Visitors had taken the newborn calf to a park facility on May 9, which officials called a dangerous move because adult bison are protective and will attack to defend their young. Rangers took the animal back to where it was picked up, but they could not get it back with the herd after several tries.

Peopls are just so stupid - "Oh that baby wild animal that lives here with its herd, who are obviously used to the temperature all year round, looks a bit chilly...John honey, open up the back, I'm gonna stick it in the back of the car. Stick the radio on for it, would you dear?"
Fuck sake.
Fuck sake.

If any of you were able to watch any given YouTube video's of what those stupid - utterly STUPID humans do while trying to snap a 'SELFIE' or take group photo's of those huge bison and other wild life in our national parks; you'd have a greater understanding of the number of humans that get EATEN by the cougars/bears and gored by the moose!
KARMA...for what the ignorant humans are doing to the other beasties while trying to get them to 'POSE' for a photo!

Some people will do anything for a selfie.
A guy literally hung half his body (or was trying very hard to) off the top of the Arc de Triomphe when I was there once. It's all gated so he couldn't fall and he only got his arm and shoulder out, but what made it worse was his little girl was watching him act like a stupid fool.
I was really praying he'd drop his phone.
I think everyone was to be fair.

I find myself cheering for those bulls as they are running from point A to get to point B and all those massive number of stupid humans celebrating their soon demise in the bull fighting stadium ---

TOO true, eddie...
ALL that the selfish pricks think of is taking the photos and Facebooking and Twitting their "selfies" as quickly as possible..
ONLY dreaming up their pathetically lame excuses after being caught out !
A SIMILAR outrage to the incident in the OP occurred in somewhere like the Philippines or Thailand a couple of months ago, when some dickwits lifted a young dolphin out of the water, and dozens of people started taking selfies with it -- and where it died before it could be returned to the water..

"The BAMBI Effect".
Where dopey and clueless "cityfied" people approach wild animals as if they were warm and cuddly cartoon characters..
THAT'S POSSIBLY ALSO WHY the #1 animals involved in human deaths have been :
Cows over there in Britain;
Moose in North America;
Horses down here in Oz;
Hippo's over in Africa...
YOU CAN make laws to protect animals and people, but you can't really outlaw "stupid", can you ?

"Hey, I'm Canadian, they don't allow us to have Fire Works either"...poor stupid man; how does he manage to get around without a 24hr care taker?
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. – Federal officials have cited a Canadian man who told rangers at Yellowstone National Park that he loaded a bison calf into his SUV because he thought it was cold.
The calf later had to be euthanized because it couldn't be reunited with its herd.
A criminal complaint filed in federal court states that Shamash Kassam of Quebec told rangers he put the bison calf in his SUV on May 9.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports that Yellowstone officials issued Kassam a citation alleging he disturbed wildlife. Kassam is set to appear June 2 at the Yellowstone Justice Center.
The citation states Kassam told a ranger that he understood what he did was wrong and wouldn't disturb wildlife again.
An attempt to reach Kassam for comment Tuesday wasn't immediately successful.

We probably could add a few suggestions to this 'MUST HAVE LIST' >
6. Selfies with wild life are FORBIDDEN - if caught doing that then you may be their next meal of choice!
