I'm very sorry to read about that. It sounds like she's under some pressure.
I've only seen her in a few things - The Royle Family, Jonathan Creek, and a drama called 7.39, and but I do like her as an actress.
I found this bit interesting.
Perhaps she's not a "heavyweight" actress, but she has something very endearing about her. Maybe she's best suited to TV work rather than stage work? When she took over from Julia Sawahla in Jonathan Creek, I was a bit unsure because Julia was a hard act to follow (as was Caroline Quentin), but I think she did pretty well.

She was fabulous as Cilla...she also won awards and accolades for her performance.
