Stop export of Irish greyhounds to their deaths in China - Petition
The fight continues to close the Canidrome, the world’s deadliest dog track! The Macau Canidrome is China’s only legal dog track and thousands of innocent Australian greyhounds have been sent there to be used and killed since 1963.
Thankfully, since December when Australian airlines refused to fly any more greyhounds to the region, no dogs have been sent to the Canidrome. Until now.
We have learned that three greyhounds recently arrived in Hong Kong for transfer to Macau. These are Irish dogs, the latest in a long line of four-legged victims who will soon die at a true slaughterhouse for greyhounds. And if something isn’t done, who knows how many more Irish dogs might be sent?
Sign our petition to tell Ireland not to send any more greyhounds to their deaths in the Macau Canidrome, the world’s deadliest racetrack.
The Macau Canidrome greyhound track is a place where no dog gets out alive. Previously, hundreds of dogs were imported from Australia each year, killed at a rate of thirty per month. We must now work harder than ever to stop this cruelty with new victims from Ireland!
Here’s the thing: shipping dogs to the Canidrome is completely against government policy in Ireland. In 2012, the Irish Department of Agriculture issued a strongly worded warning against the export of racing greyhounds to Asian countries because there was not “sufficient assurance that adequate provision would be made to safeguard the health and welfare of greyhounds in China at the end of their racing life."
But if they don’t enforce their own policies, then they don’t provide any protection to these greyhounds. Now is the time to remind the Irish government that its proscription on racing dog exports to Asian countries should be strictly enforced.
Please sign the petition! The greyhounds of Ireland are counting on us to act now!

They are the most loving loyal dogs and this is revolting. Anyone who agrees with me, please sign.
