Planet Nine: Scientists find more evidence that hidden planet is sitting at the edge of our solar system
New evidence strengthens the idea that there is a mysterious planet hiding at the far edge of our solar system. Objects have been spotted moving around unusually at the edge of our solar system. And the best explanation for the strange orbits is the mysterious Planet Nine, according to one of the scientists who has argued that the hidden planet exists. In January, a pair of scientists argued that they had found another planet, based on calculations using objects at the distant end of our solar system. By studying the orbit of six objects in the Kuiper Belt – a mysterious area thought to be filled of astroids and other icy objects – they argued that they were being affected by something large and previously unknown.

Scientists at the University of Arkansas have discovered new evidence to support the existence of the Planet 9, a hidden massive sphere that could be at the edge of our Solar System orbiting our Sun. Scientists published a study on Wednesday in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society that says new evidence suggests the planet has been triggering comet showers, roughly every 27 million years, that result in periodic mass extinctions.

Close enough to the OP that I thought a new thread wasn't needed. I thought it was interesting to add that Planet 9 might trigger comet showers.

The idea here is that it orbits WAY out beyond Pluto and the rest of the Kuyper Belt in an irregular orbit that sometimes brings it close enough to the Kuyper Belt to disrupt objects within it.
Coupled with the fact that that orbit would take anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 years to complete, and we may only now be advanced enough in our ability to look into space to detect it when it's closer.

Well, when you put it like that.....
