It got people talking about Madonna which Madonna likes seeing as Madonna's star is fading somewhat.

She should use her experience and contacts and go and coach and/or manage some new talent IMO
Preferably a band - as any young solo male or female will just be a version of her, an extension of her ego.

Exactly.

I like her music actually. But I don't know if that's becasue she sings the songs pretty well, or because they're pretty good pop songs (IMO obviously).

I just think she'd probably be wise to make managing and directing, her next step now.

She's incredibly fit for her age. She looks amazing when she's dressed in normal attire. It's more her behaviour. I think after years of being at the top of her game, and as a mediocre singer but a great performer, she's finding it hard to own up to the fact that her looks and body while in good shape are no longer nubile and youthful. She sold herself through sex, her sexual performances and appearance. She just can't do that anymore. It looks desperate and undignified.

Maybe because of the way she acts she draws attention to her age.
Shirley Bassey and Tina Turner are a lot older...as is Lulu, Cher, and lots of female singers, their age isn't mentioned in a derogatory way because they act their age...she is just so ....sleazy.

A group of us were in a Manchester restaurant....she came in with some of the cast from Prime suspect which was being shot locally. Their table was next to ours....we were the last two tables left, someone started singing along to a record, their table joined ours, and we all did a song.....she actually joined in with everyones chorus but didn't sing a full song.

When it got to about 3am the restaurant owner had had enough...and he put the caterwailing song from the musical "Cats" on loudly.
We realised we had overstayed our welcome and left....Helen Mirren was chatty, jolly and just 'normal' throughout the night.

Yes, but I agree with Rags...Helen Mirren is not a showman, but an actress. She plays a role.

I loved her in REDS. Her transition to comedy was great.
