Global surface temperatures across land and ocean in February were 1.35°C warmer than the average temperature for that month, measured from the 1951-1980 baseline. NASA/GISS



The global temperature in February smashed monthly records to become the warmest month in more than a century of recordkeeping.

According to Nasa data, global surface temperatures across land and ocean in February were 1.35°C warmer than the average temperature for that month, measured from the 1951-1980 baseline.

The previous record was set in January, which was 1.14°C warmer than the baseline average for that month.

Honestly Edde, I think it's too late, they have waffled too long and we have reached the point of no return.

It's almost 20 degrees (F) hotter today than the average for today where I live.

In other words, it's 31 (C) on March 14.

I think it's bloody scary.

I have an elderly aunt & uncle that have beach front property in the Pensacola, Fl area; they've operated a Bed & Breakfast for - well since they retired when they were in their mid 60's.  They are now trying to find any family member that would be interested in buying them - lease purchase the place - but they're offers have fallen on deaf ears with many of us cousins!  We used to all go down on our summers for a rotation of work/vacation 2 - 4 week periods --- but after a couple of hurricanes and lack of FEMA reimbursements and piss poor insurance coverage; well the man hours we've all spent rebuilding that quaint place TWICE --- it's not worth the fear that yet another hurricane will just level that pretty B & B and we'd have lost all of our investment. 

We've collectively told them both; sell it and get the heck out while you can afford too! 

I'd in no way purchase land along any of our coast line and for sure - NEVER along the coastal regions that have had significant hurricane damage.  The strength of those hurricanes is escalating and while the numbers may have dropped; the amount of storm surge/wind driven waves has been a horror to deal with.  If I lived along our coastal regions - I'd be getting 'OUT'...
