Since ISIS burst onto the scene, Israel's leaders have made the case that Hamas and ISIS are two sides of the same coin.

Hamas ties to Islamic State now undeniable Hamas%2Bisis

And critics have disparaged the idea vehemently, pointing out that Hamas was acting against extremist jihadist groups in Gaza.

Egyptian sources have been warning about Hamas for years, and the nation declared Hamas to be a terrorist group last year. Again, Hamas' defenders dismissed the idea, pointing out that Hamas has denied any ties and wants to maintain a close relationship with Egypt.

Recent events have shown that not only are Hamas and ISIS two sides of the same coin - they are actively cooperating.

TOI reports:
The Egyptian soldiers stationed on the border of the Gaza Strip have encountered this sight more than once in the past few weeks: Hamas-owned bulldozers and tractors appear and begin excavations on the border with the Sinai Peninsula.

Despite promises to Cairo that Hamas is not engaged in the smuggling trade with the Islamic State’s Sinai affiliate, the bulldozers are digging tunnels in broad daylight, to the astonishment of the Egyptians, to boost the smuggling from and to Sinai that has recently been compromised.

These bulldozers approach the border, and then abruptly disappear underground, according to sources in the Gaza Strip. Several seconds later, they exit the tunnels, loaded with dirt, and unload it not far from the excavation site.

And even if Cairo gave the workers the benefit of the doubt and thought they could be working without the knowledge of Hamas, the sight of them taking “coffee breaks” at Hamas security positions, right in front of the Egyptian soldiers’ eyes, dispels any notion that the Strip’s rulers aren’t behind what’s going on.

The heavy digging shows the cooperation between the terror group and the IS group is seemingly only getting stronger. Hamas continues to dig tunnels into Sinai, using its heavy machinery. At the same time, the Sinai branch of the Islamic State and Hamas are trying to build a permanent and organized channel to evacuate the wounded IS fighters into Gaza. This is on top of sending Gazan fighters to Sinai, as was recently reported by The Times of Israel.

Sources in the Gaza Strip said that last week, one of the Islamic State’s primary smugglers in Sinai, Ibrahim Abu al-Kariya, a Bedouin resident of Sinai, visited the Strip. His goal was to meet with senior officials in Hamas’ armed wing to facilitate the evacuations of the wounded, through the tunnels, in a more orderly fashion.

The IS fighters do not have access to medical care in the peninsula, since the Egyptian government and security forces control the hospitals, hence their need for hospitalization in Gaza.

Hamas’s military wing, under the leadership of Muhammed Deif and Yahya Sinwar, accompany them from the moment they enter the Strip, hospitalize them under assumed identities, and take care of their every need. Moreover, al-Kariya coordinates the transfer of fighters – most of whom identify with Salafists, but at least some of whom were Hamas fighters until recently.

In the past month, two former Hamas members went from the Strip to Sinai, Mohammed Sami and Mahmoud Zinet. The two are allegedly aligned with the Salafists, such that Hamas can renounce them if need be. Yet they went to Sinai with their former commanders’ knowledge.

Al-Kariya is responsible for smuggling weapons into the Gaza Strip, and in exchange, he receives money, weapons manufactured in Gaza, and the military know-how of those former Hamas fighters who went to fight in Sinai. Hamas is fully aware of this phenomenon, according to the sources in Gaza, and they view the cooperation with the jihadists as critical to their interests.

This is in stark contrast to the view of the political wing, which opposes it and demanded that they end this collaboration.

Last week came confirmation of the relationship between Hamas and ISIS from a leaked internal ISIS letter, reported by MEMRI;

On February 24, 2016, a letter from an Islamic State (ISIS) fighter to ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was posted on social media. In it, the fighter strongly protests the close ties and cooperation between ISIS's Sinai province and Hamas, particularly Hamas's military wing.

This letter is the first confirmation of ties between the two organizations that comes from ISIS itself, and a unique firsthand account of the nature of these ties. It appears that the document was not meant for circulation outside ISIS, and to have been leaked by Al-Qaeda supporters.

The letter ... explains the areas in which the groups collaborate: ISIS fighters in Sinai are smuggling weapons into Gaza for Hamas; Hamas is producing weapons and explosive devices for ISIS Sinai; Hamas is providing logistical assistance to ISIS Sinai, including communications systems and hospitalization for its wounded fighters in Gaza; and ISIS Sinai officials are visiting Gaza and dining at the homes of Hamas government and military wing officials.

The Washington Institute reported on specific cooperation between the groups last December:

Over the past two years, IS Sinai helped Hamas move weapons from Iran and Libya through the peninsula, taking a generous cut from each shipment. Hamas relies on Bedouin guides to avoid detection by the Egyptian army and reach the few tunnels that have survived Cairo's aggressive flooding and closure campaign. In this manner, IS Sinai acquired the advanced Kornet antitank missiles it has used to sink an Egyptian patrol boat off the coast of al-Arish and destroy several tanks and armored carriers stationed in the peninsula's northeastern sector. Hamas has also provided training to some IS Sinai fighters and assisted with the group's media campaign and online postings.

One of the main Hamas officials involved in this activity is Ayman Nofal, former commander of the IDQB's Central District Brigade. Prior to his 2008 arrest by Egyptian authorities, he was in charge of developing Hamas's system of safe houses and collaborators among the Bedouins. He managed to escape from a Cairo prison in 2011 during the riots accompanying the Arab Spring and soon resumed his work in Sinai.
All these reports make clear that it is the military wing of Hamas that is actively working with ISIS, and it is the political wing that is issuing statements denying any such cooperation.

ISIL warns Hamas in video message

Fighters condemn Palestinian group for crackdown on ISIL supporters, and failure to implement its brand of Islamic law.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group has threatened the Palestinian armed group Hamas, vowing to end the faction's rule in the territory.
In a 16-minute long video shared by social media accounts sympathetic to ISIL on Wednesday, fighters based in Syria's Aleppo province condemned Hamas for its crackdown on Salafist groups in the Gaza Strip, and its failure to implement a rigid enough interpretation of Islamic law.

ISIL takes control of Syria's Yarmouk refugee camp
"The point of jihad is not to liberate land ... but jihad as defined by God, is fighting for and implementing the law of God," said one masked fighter, who further condemned Hamas for its dealings with Iran and Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah, as well as "nationalist", "secularist", and "communist" factions.
"They raise their children to respect this (Palestinian) flag," the fighter said, telling Palestinians that Hamas could not secure their freedom.
"The road to liberate Palestine goes through Iraq and we (ISIL) are getting closer, day by day ... while they (Hamas) are moving away from that goal."
Another fighter condemned the Palestinian faction for referring to ISIL and its supporters as "khawarij", a term used to refer to a group of Muslims in early Islamic history, meaning "those who have transgressed".
The fighter later refers to ISIL's seizure of parts of the Yarmouk refugee camp in the Syrian capital of Damascus after clashes with Palestinian groups, including a faction associated with Hamas.
"What is happening today in Syria, especially in the Yarmouk camp, we swear by God, will happen in Gaza," the fighter said.
Hamas has clamped down on alleged supporters of ISIL in recent months, in a campaign to snuff out purported attempts by the group, which controls large parts of Syria and Iraq, to establish a foothold in Gaza.

Now ISIS incurs the wrath of Hamas: Islamic State ransacks Syria's Yarmouk refugee camp and massacres residents - prompting vow of revenge from Palestinian fighters

  • Rampaging ISIS militants have seized up to 90 per cent of Yarmouk camp
  • 100 Palestinian refugees have been killed or kidnapped since Wednesday
  • Two members of a Hamas-linked group were beheaded, witnesses said
  • Now Gaza-based leaders have sworn bloody revenge on ISIS terrorists

ISIS militants besieging a Palestinian refugee camp in Syria's capital have savagely beheaded the leaders of a Hamas-linked group opposed to President Bashar Assad, it has been claimed.
Having seized control of up to 90 per cent of the Yarmouk camp in south Damascus, the jihadis posted gruesome images showing the severed heads of two alleged members of Aknaf Beit al-Maqdis online.
Like ISIS, the Palestinian group has declared Israel its sworn enemy, although its presence in Yarmouk has until now been to defend the camp's 18,000 residents from a crippling two year siege carried out by the Assad regime.
ISIS' decision to publicly execute the men - as well as reports of the deaths of dozens more Palestinians during clashes inside Yarmouk - has prompted outrage in Gaza, where hundreds of furious Hamas supporters swore bloody revenge on the terror group during a march yesterday.

ISIS calls Hamas 'apostates', pledges to fight them in Gaza

The Information Bureau of the Aleppo Province, affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS), has released a new video entitled "A message to our folks in Jerusalem" in which ISIS members who hail from Gaza declared Hamas heretical and described it as the Awakenings of Apostasy.
Abu Qatadah Al-Filistini (Palestinian Abu Qatadah), who is one of the people who came from the Gaza Strip and joined ISIS in Aleppo, expressed profound delight that he is one of the caliphate's soldiers. He called on all "monotheists in Gaza to join the convoy of the Muhajidin and to join the State of the Caliphate."
Abu Qatadah accused Hamas of "sliding gradually into apostasy, a slide that started with the demolition of the Ibn Taymiyah Mosque. It is a movement that does not seek to govern according to Shariah but seeks to appease Iran and America, the heads of apostasy."

Guess Who is Behind the Islamic State: Israeli IDF Colonel Leading ISIS Terrorists Arrested in Iraq

“The security and popular forces have held captive an Israeli colonel,” a commander of Iraq’s popular mobilization forces said on Thursday.
“The Zionist officer is ranked colonel and had participated in the Takfiri ISIL group’s terrorist operations,” he added.
Noting that he was arrested along with a number of ISIL terrorists, the commander said, “The Israeli colonel’s name is Yusi Oulen Shahak and is ranked colonel in Golani Brigade of the Zionist regime’s army with the security and military code of Re34356578765az231434.”
He said that the relevant bodies are now interrogating the Israeli colonel to understand the reasons behind his fighting alongside the ISIL forces and the presence of other Zionist officers among ISIL terrorists.
The Iraqi security forces said the captured colonel has already made shocking confessions.
Several ISIL militants arrested in the last one year had already confessed that Israeli agents from Mossad and other Israeli espionage and intelligence bodies were present in the first wave of ISIL attacks on Iraq and capture of Mosul in Summer 2014, but no ranking Israeli agent had been arrested.
Political and military experts told FNA that the capture of the Israeli colonel will leave a grave impact on Iraq’s war strategy, including partnership with Israeli allies.
In a relevant development in July, Iraqi volunteer forces announced that they had shot down a drone that was spying on the Arab country’s security forces in the city of Fallujah, Western Iraq.
Iraq’s popular forces reported that they had brought down a hostile surveillance aircraft over the Southeastern Fallujah in Anbar Province.
They said that the wreckage of the ISIL’s spy drone carried ‘Israel-Made’ labels.
This was not the first Israeli-made drone downed in Iraq.

Globalresearch (under the domain names globalresearch.ca(link) and globalresearch.org(link)) is an anti-globalization left wing website that can't distinguish between serious analysis and discreditable junk and so publishes both. The website is run by the Montreal-based non-profit The Centre for Research on Globalisation (CRG) founded by Michel Chossudovsky,[2][3] a tenured professor at the University of Ottawa.[4] Weep for the future.

While many of Globalresearch's articles discuss legitimate humanitarian or environmental concerns, its view of science, economics, and geopolitics is broadly conspiracist, with a strong anti-Western bent. It's no surprise that the site has long been a crank magnet for moonbats of all stripes. If you disagree with mainstream sources on 9/11, or HAARP, or vaccines, or Gaddafi, or H1N1, or climate change, or anythingpublished by mainstream "Western" media, then Globalresearch is guaranteed to have a page you can cite in support.

Globalresearch may be best described as the moonbat equivalent to WorldNetDaily. Whenever someone makes a remarkable claim and cites Globalresearch, they are almost certainly wrong.

Conspiracy theories

Despite presenting itself as a source of scholarly analysis, Global Research mostly consists of polemicists. The prevalent strand is that a New World Order is being implemented by global elites (primarily governments and corporations).[11][12]Many of the articles accept conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, and propaganda in order to further this narrative.
Specific conspiracy theories include:

  • Big Pharma[6][13][14][15]

  • Anti-vaccination movement: Vaccines simultaneously are a depopulation tactic[16] cause autism,[17] don't work.[18] And it's all being covered up by Monsanto/the West.[13][19]

  • Homeopathy[13][14]

  • 9/11 conspiracy theories ad nauseam[20][21][22][23]

  • Bosnian genocide denialism[24]

  • Rwandan genocide denialism[25]

  • David Kelly[26]

  • Congress is literally puppets: "Members of Congress are puppets. Their vote is controlled by Washington’s lobby groups. For the defence contractors, Wall Street and the Texas oil giants, 'war is good for business'."[27]

  • The US and its CIA created ISIS,[28][29] and are using it as a "Psyop" theater[30]

  • GMFs[31][32][33]

  • Monsanto[31][34]

  • Zionism[35][36], sometimes hard to distinguish from antisemitism (see below).[37]

  • HAARP[38]

  • Global warming conspiracy theory[39][40] (though some of their articles argue for the existence of global warming[41])

  • Chemtrails are toxic[42] or maybe for geo-engineering[43]

  • Anti-nuclear movement and Fukushima[44]

  • Bilderberg Group[45]

  • Federal Reserve[46]

[edit]Media conspiracy

See the main article on this topic: Mainstream media
Globalresearch asserts that most of mainstream media is ultimately controlled by NATO and the US government.
From "America is on a “Hot War Footing”: House Legislation Paves the Way for War with Russia?"[27]
The adoption of a major piece of legislation by the US House of Representatives on December 4th (H. Res. 758) would provide (pending a vote in the Senate) a de facto green light to the US president and commander in chief to initiate –without congressional approval– a process of military confrontation with Russia. Global security is at stake. This historic vote –which potentially could affect the lives of hundreds of millions of people Worldwide– has received virtually no media coverage. A total media blackout prevails. [....] One would expect that this historic decision would has been the object of extensive news coverage. In fact what happened was a total news blackout. The nation’s media failed to provide coverage of the debate in House of Representatives and the adoption of H Res 758 on December 4. The mainstream media had been instructed not to cover the Congressional decision. Nobody dared to raise its dramatic implications. its impacts on “global security”. ”World War III is not front page news.” And without mainstream news concerning US-NATO war preparations, the broader public remains unaware of the importance of the Congressional decision. [....] Spread the word. Reverse the tide of war. Break the mainstream media blackout.
Globalresearch is correct that no major news sources covered the resolution, (though the Ron Paul Institute[47] and Inquisitr[48] both managed to get their digs in) but they fail to provide any reason to believe that the media "has been instructed not to cover" the issue, rather than looking for more viewer-enticing stories -- say, the graphic war that's actually going on in Ukraine. Moreover, a resolution is not a bill -- it merely says that Congress is really, really pissed at Russia, rather than putting it on "hot war footing".

[edit]Anti-Western

Globalresearch appears to fully believe that my enemy's enemy is my friend. The West can do no right, and anything which opposes the "West" (ie, the US and its allies) can do no wrong. Examples:
During the 2011 Libyan civil war the site was an apologist for Muammar al-Gaddafi, reproducing his propaganda and painting him as a paragon of a modern leader.[49][50]
In the 2014 Ukrainian crisis the site is taking the standard "anti-globalisation" stance against the Western side and falling into the ranks of imperial Russian propaganda instead]].[51][52][53][54][55][56] Chossudovsky wrote that "the deaths of protesters in Maidan square triggered by Neo-Nazi elements have been used to break the legitimacy of a duly elected government" [57] and questions, "Is the US backing Neo-Nazis in Ukraine?"[58] While criticizing American buildup of forces against Russia, it writes: "The underlying narrative is supported by a string of baseless accusations directed against the Russian Federation. It accuses Russia of having invaded Ukraine. It states without evidence that Russia was behind the downing of Malaysian Airlines MH17, it accuses Russia of military aggression."[27] Accordingly, it denies that MH-17 had anything to do with Russia.[51]

[edit]FBI Refuses to Uncover Plot to Assassinate Occupy Leaders

[size=36][/size][size=36][/size]Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if the government cooks up these [assasination] plans for every movement that threatens the establishment. They just keep them in place as a last resort, while they use the combined efforts of the media, informants, and provocateurs to quietly neuter these movements before they become a problem. We may have just gotten lucky by stumbling onto one of their premature plans.
—Chussodovsky[61]
This article is a truly beautiful example of the site's moonbattery.[61] In the real world, Freedom of Information Act request was sent for details on an assasination plot for members of the Occupy Houstonmovement. The FBI argued that the documents are legally exempted from the Freedom of Information Act, because they contained the identities of confidential sources who were members of organized violent groups.[62][63][64] In the Globalresearch world, Chussodovsky quotes:
An identified [DELETED] as of October planned to engage in sniper attacks against protestors (sic) in Houston, Texas if deemed necessary. An identified [DELETED] had received intelligence that indicated the protesters in New York and Seattle planned similar protests in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. [DELETED] planned to gather intelligence against the leaders of the protest groups and obtain photographs, then formulate a plan to kill the leadership via suppressed sniper rifles. (Note: protests continued throughout the weekend with approximately 6000 persons in NYC. ‘Occupy Wall Street’ protests have spread to about half of all states in the US, over a dozen European and Asian cities, including protests in Cleveland (10/6-8/11) at Willard Park which was initially attended by hundreds of protesters.
From this, he concludes:
As of now, we have no idea who this person is that was preparing to engage in these attacks, or if it even was person. For all we know it could have been a group of people or a state-sanctioned organization. We don’t know if this is information the FBI received on a suspect, or if this was a communication between themselves and one of their own assets. The language of the document certainly sounds pretty creepy. Terms like “if deemed necessary” and “received intelligence” have led many to believe that this unknown person was officially sanctioned to act by the government. And if that isn’t true, if the FBI had just received a tip that a lone gunman was about to start killing peaceful protesters, what measures did they take to prevent that from happening? By all appearances, they didn’t do anything. So, best-case scenario, the government knew something could happen, and decided to ignore it; and worst-case scenario, they were playing an active role in this plot. [....] All this for a bunch of idealistic college kids. I will admit, there’s a chance that we’re misinterpreting these documents, but they sure make the FBI look insane. Like I said before, it appears that they were either plotting to assassinating Occupy leaders, or they were going to look the other way while somebody else did the deed.
Chussodovsky is engaging in classic conspiracist JAQing off: rather than actually trying to find out what the FBI did or waiting for the details on the group to be revealed, he fills in the blanks with The Big Bad United States Government. He provides no reasons to believe this, but merely hopes that the lack of counterevidence is sufficient.

[edit]The Doctrine of Superior People: The Bond between Israel and World Zionism

Globalresearch approvingly reuses James Petras's article, which borders on antisemitism. Petras writes:[37]
Israel’s dominant role in formulating US Middle East policy is largely a product of its success at recruiting, socializing and motivating overseas Jews to act as an organized force to intervene in US politics and push Israel’s agenda. What motivates American Jews, who have been raised and educated in the US[,] to serve Israel? [....] I am going to focus on one – the ideology that ‘Jews are a superior people’. The notion that Jews, either through some genetic, biologic, cultural, historical, familial and/or [sic] upbringing, have[ ]special [sic] qualities allowing them to achieve at a uniquely higher level than the ‘inferior’ non-Jews.
It's one thing for the article to disprove Jewish supremacist arguments, which are fundamentally racialist. It's quote another to assert that Jews worldwide knowingly work together, in a conspiracy to change world events. (This is quite literally Hitler's worldview in reference to the Jews, whom he blames for every international event.)
For articles like these, the Jewish Times described Globalresearch as "rife with anti-Jewish conspiracy theories and Holocaust denial", though Chussodovsky argues that Globalresearch is "anti-Zionist, not antisemitic".

Need I give any more further proof that sassy is racist and hates Jews?
