Utterly sickening.

All of the Pakistani Muslim gangs were operating for many years before anything was done. It has been a huge cover up, enabled by police, the CPR, authorities, local councils, communities, carers and God knows who else.

Hopefully it wont ever be allowed to rise again. Place like Rochdale (which is local to me) have not yet recovered....it'll take a long time.

No they're not. I don't accept "brainwashing" as an excuse of any kind, and I don't really believe in it, unless drugs or hypnosis are used.

That's not brainwashing though. Someone can possibly be influenced to think in a certain way, but their behaviour is the result of their own choices. "Brainwashing" to me means mind control - an involuntary thing.

Many communities look up to their religious and cultural leaders...what they say is important, I call it brain washing if it's been done since childhood.

It sounds to me like you're almost excusing ignorance of the law in this thread, or perhaps you think that people who are "brainwashed" simply can't help themselves but to break the law.

I think you two are quibbling over the same thing. When it's been done by a community and since birth, we tend to call it "culturalization." When it's done after a certain age (a whole other area of debate) and by a single person or a small group of like-minded people, we call it "brainwashing."
