It is hardly possible at this end of the town where we live to get onto the property ladder, not many first time buyers, shame how difficult it is.

Potential homebuyers earning the average wage for their area are facing an epic struggle to get onto the property ladder solo, interactive maps from an estate agent shows.
A median-priced property is now no longer affordable for median-earning solo buyers in 95 per cent of local authorities across England and Wales, Savills says.
In fact there are just 16 locations that remain affordable, largely clustered in the North and Wales.

My son bought for the first time last year.
He has rented for years....wasted money imo, but he had no responsibilities so it suited him.

I think an average price house in an average priced area is a lot cheaper here than in many parts of the country Stormee.
2 bedroom Victorian terraces are around the £100 grand mark for eg.

They were well built Syl

They certainly were. He rented one for years.
Unless they are in clearance areas they will be standing and in good nick a lot longer than some modern built houses.
