The pyjama debate.
Since the head of a school in Darlington requested that parents should not wear pyjamas and slippers when dropping their kids off in the morning, seems lots of people have an opinion.
One mother from the school got her photo in the paper deliberately flouting the request and grinning like a simpleton.
Minor celebs have spoken out for or against the wearing of nightwear to be worn on the school run.
Personally I agree with the head 100%....who wants a slovenly unorganised person waving them off in the morning?

Re: The pyjama debate.
It's terribly lazy isn't it? I can see the temptation of course, but please people, just put on an old T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms at least.

Blimey Rags....you type so quick.
It shows a lack of respect for yourself imo, a woman across the street from us has done it for years....lazy cow.
A vicar was on the local BBC station on Sunday giving his view.....he thought it was trivial and as long as the kids got to school on time that was the important thing.
They probably do get their on time....but with no breakfast inside them.

Well at least you would give the other mums a laugh if you turned up in your birthday suit.

Wouldn't it be easier if they just didn't get changed into their pyjamas when they went to bed? That would save a lot of time in the morning.

Or set their clock 10 minutes earlier maybe?
One of the daftest arguments I have heard is that working mums have so much to do in the morning they are putting their kids getting to school on time before themselves? Presumably they do get dressed to go to work, so why not get dressed before they take the kids to school?

Re: The pyjama debate.
Someone on my FB page put this story up and I said the same thing: get fucking dressed you lazy slob
She said "but I suffer from RA (rheumatoid arthritis) and I feel like shit some mornings!"
No excuse. No one is asking you to blow dry your hair to perfection or put make up on, but put on some jeans and a jumper and brush your hair. Job done.
What message is it sending to children too??
Do we send them in their pjs if they get up late???

They do say that people with RA suffer from joint stiffness in the morning, but if they get out of bed a bit earlier, that stiffness will wear off earlier.
Mind you, brushing one's hair is not enough IMO - well it doesn't make much difference to mine anyway.

One could always wear a onesie instead. Apparently, they are used for both daywear and nightwear.

I can believe that.
When I used to take my son to school there was a group of mums who seemed to always be trying to outdo each other in the fashion stakes....even in the mornings.
The gym was even worse....matching everything, and they never seemed to sweat either.

Their kidz are probably having the urine extracted from then because of it.
If they still got jarmuz on bet they have not showud.
I had a friend who used to go to the chippy in their slippuz.
I bet there are some on forumz who go up skool in jarmuz.
I don't think it's that unusual nowadays, maybe (in some areas) the kids whose mums bother to get dressed are in the minority.

Re: The pyjama debate.
My gym outfit was black leggings and a lycra top.
Some of the mumsI knew who went to the gym modelled themselves on Olivia Newton John in that "Lets get physical" video....complete with matching wrist and head bands.

I quite like sporty clothes - it makes me look like I'm sporty even though I'm not.
I've never really liked trainers though.

Re: The pyjama debate.
Sporty clothes are the complete opposite to how I'd dress! I only wear tracksuit bottoms indoors and never wear trainers - even when I exercise at home, I'm normally barefoot.

Keep quiet....the last time you mentioned an item of clothes you wore (treggings) it fed some trolls for months.

Indeed. The discussion lasted a lot longer than the treggings did.

My treggings (or jeggings, never quite sure which are which) have lasted ages....still going strong. But I kept quiet about them, I saw all the stick you took.

That's terrible! Why don't you go to the press and tell them how humiliated you are?
