Unfortunately had to cuddle three of my dogs while they were put to sleep, it's utterly gutting and the final thing you can do for them.

Is a terribly sad and agonising time... you have to give them every chance but if they are really suffering and only getting worse then if you don't do something then you are just prolonging their misery.

For anyone who has just lost a pet, Google

"Rainbow Bridge" it could give you some comfort!

If any one reads it, please let me know your thoughts.

I cried when I held my beloved Westie for the last time.
Small consolation was the beautiful mounted photo of her in her prime and lovely casket which reminds us of her free spirit e every day.
She lived a very long life (15 years) to the absolute full , accompanying us to Land's End and the Cairngorms in Scotland.
We were blessed.
Our latest little Westie is an opposite character so there are no comparison.

I'm sad for you Stormee.....and for everyone else who has lost a pet.
They are members of the family and the grief is very real when one dies.

I actually finished with my first real love when he showed no sympathy after my pet dog had to be put down....he was so uncaring my feelings for him changed.
Who wants to be saddled with a man who doesn't understand the bond between humans and animals.

I once went out with a Farmers Daughter, hot days in the barley fields were something else. Walking home one night she kicked one of the Farm cats, that was the end of that romance!
