I think this is a good starting point for a debate as there is clear rivalry all the time between us Brits and the Yanks all the time.

So do you agree with the ten stated that us Brits are better at

Is there any others people would like to say we do better than the US at and reason why

And lastly do the Yanks have what they would claim is done better in the US thank the UK?

10) Most Americans would love to have more paid holidays, but the undue influence of corporate interests on right-wing politicians makes this a hard thing to achieve:

One of Paul Ryan’s conditions for becoming speaker is that he be able to spend time with his family. But when it comes to federal policies on family leave, Ryan has opposed virtually every measure proposed over the past several years.

In 2009, for instance, Ryan voted against the Federal Employees Paid Parental Leave Act, which would have allowed federal employees to substitute up to four weeks of available paid leave to take parental leave. The bill passed a then-Democratic House with 24 Republican votes, but the legislation never made it to the Senate floor.

The House had 155 Republican members voting against paid family leave.

9) Point conceded, at least in the last several decades. But what are Cowell, Osbourne and for that matter, Anne Robinson, best known for? Being harsh. Yea!

8 ) The U.S. has no royal weddings because we have no royalty, which I realize brings in a lot of tourism now but meant centuries of autocratic rule for the UK, so -- no. You had English monarchs who didn't even speak English; even Victoria spoke it with a German accent, so, again -- no.

7) James Bond is cool, but we've got the superheroes and supervillains. There is no iconic British superhero or villain -- we have Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, the Hulk, Wolverine ... Magneto, Lex Luthor, Venom, the Joker ...

I'll concede that Constantine is pretty awesome, though.

6) The U.S. has few cities that were built out before the invention of the automobile, so we don't need taxis the way you do. The cities that did get big before cars have pretty good taxi fleets, though, and I'd argue the NYC yellow cab is equally iconic to the London black cab.

5) Not even a good point, as billionaires are in the main sociopaths who tread on the common man to get more money than they could ever spend.

4) Tea time, really? The only way you'd think that was an advantage is if you'd been raised with it. There's nothing objectively great about having tea and a snack.

3) Castles and palaces -- like pyramids, they're really just pretty, majestic symbols of oppression.

2) 630 megawatts? Wow! ... Texas windfarms alone generate nearly twice that. And just to beat the rest of you to the punch, yes -- the majority of it does come from me, either blowing hot air or breaking wind.

I picked quite a bit of envy more than anything else lol Ben out of your answers. Some honesty there I will agree but even many Yanks envy that we have a Royal family and go even more Royalmania at a Royal wedding than the British do, so you cannot make any claim to say you have anything better than that, as many in your country do envy that. James Bond beats anything the US has, beause at least James Bond is based on real life people, where as comics are completely fictional and based on powers which are near zero impossible to have. So again as far as a superhero goes, would make James Bond leap and bound above the Marval or DC superheroes.
You are a Philistine if you fo not even enjoy tea, which is way better than coffee for you. Our cultural buildings are a class above anything the US has to offer, as it has the history as well that makes the US history look insignificant next to.

Why in the world would I want a royal family? Really -- the royals are useless.

James Bond has been over the top and ridiculous for most of its history -- at least superhero stories don't pretend to be anything besides over the top and ridiculous.

I like tea, I just don't know why having it at the same time every day is so great. That's dumb.

What exactly "rocks" about black cabs?

I understand these things are dear to you, as you were raised with them, but you should understand that that's the only reason you think they're great. Just like I realize there's nothing intrinsically wonderful about prickly cactus, I just like them because I grew up around them.

So? I can't comment on a video you posted for comment because I have feelings about it?

I really don't know any Americans who are big fans of the royal family -- honestly, over here they seem hokey and old-fashioned. Like barristers wearing wigs, it gives this impression of a stodgy, up-tight country.

Black cabs are safe and iconic (not as iconic as your red buses, though). But like I said, most major U.S. cities don't have as great a need for taxis. I've been in a taxi once my whole life, and that was when I visited New York.

I did say James Bond is cool. He's still the best fictional spy. I just pointed out that while the UK has the market on spies, we have the market on superheroes. I enjoy Iron Man as much as James Bond, they're just entertainment.

And so I have to disagree with you Ben, when it comes to the castles and palaces you mentioned, more particularly the many castles in Scotland along with ruins, battlegrounds, historic houses etc, More Americans than any other foreigners, are drawn to the culture of Scotland, which is why we see the United States being the largest source of oversea visitors to Scotland.

Cars you lose again, nothing beats a Astin Martin for Muscle cars, the yanks version is all engine and no aerodynamics, maneuverability. Granted they look good, but that is about it.

Baseball can be boring -- quite often -- but when it's good, it's great. And we have softball for girls, which has basically become a totally different sport.
