Woman faces jail after Facebook post calling ex-sister-in-law 'stupid'

A New York woman is facing a year behind bars after posting a Facebook status tagging in a woman she had been prohibited from contacting by a court order.Maria Gonzalez is accused of calling Maribel Calderon 'stupid' in the post, and saying: “You and your family are sad … You guys have to come stronger than that!! I’m way over you guys but I guess not in ya agenda.”Westchester County Supreme Court heard that Calderon had received a notification that she had been tagged.Gonzales is charged with second-degree criminal contempt for the alleged post. She had been forbidden from contacting the woman following her divorce from Rafael Calderon, Maribel's brother.

It is totally ridiculous!
If the woman was supposed to keep away them the most that should've happened is her Facebook account was suspended or deleted.

Nah...a court can impose a lot of penalties upon a criminal, but one that violates the Constitution ain't one of them. That's an insult to the Constitution, not just the criminal.

Chances are, if the court had ruled that she can't contact her sister-in-law, there was a pretty good reason -- I'm thinking she made threats or was harassing her.
The court order did specifically say that she was not allowed to contact the sister-in-law "by electronic or any other means."
