They have been very supportive of the ban in my experience. I haven't had a reason to report illegal hunting or hare coursing, but if I did, I would not put up with them turning a blind eye.

true Syl, but....
one results in the admittedly unkind death of perhaps a dozen, it has to be said, verminous and quite unpleasant furry life forms across the country
the other results in te unpleasant deaths of several tens to hundereds and the continuing and deepening misery of 10's of 1000's of human beings
yet the hordes of unwashed ony go howling and screaming after those who misuse a few irelevant furry life forms, hence my comments about priorities.....
where are the hordes of unwashed, beseiging the commons, throwing fire crackers at the mp's steeds?
where are the hordes of unwashed demanding and wishing death upon the foul hordes of westminster?
whats that you say...you cant see them...nope neither can I......

pity they dont seek out and get the necessary publicity, and couch it in the same emotive terms, for those disabled and in some cases dieing victims of govt policy....
but that would mean taking on something rather more ferocious than a few twits on horses...
whats worse...they cant even take the twits on horse on very well....
and I thought these "sabs" were intelligent types...
fook me I could utterly wreck a hunt in 30 seconds, without leaving my van, without trespassing, without anyone realising what I was doing,
there would be hounds and riderless horses scattered over 3 counties...
OH my...
what jolly fun

Sorry to disappoint, but those same kind of people are fighting for the disabled as well, whereas you said you were going to vote Tory, the very people who are causing the deaths of disabled people and making their lives a nightmare. I don't think you have room to talk Vic.

doing what exactly? I dont see any fireworks being thrown at MP's cars?
or mp's families being threatened (not that i would apporove of either but....)
where are the loud persistant demonstrations outside job centers the disruption of job center business, the targeting of jobcenter managers?
hmmmm????
whereas you said you were going to vote Tory, the very people who are causing the deaths of disabled people and making their lives a nightmare. I don't think you have room to talk Vic.
yes , and I'll do it again whilst labour continue to go down the road of interference rather than governance
down the road of giving disproportionate weight to the loudest minority to shout
that doesnt mean I agree with what the tories are doing vis the treatment of many folks...
nor does it stop me pointing out that as is normal these people have warped priorities....
I mean where IS your beloved leader?
he should be daily nailing cameron to the wall....
he should be daily formenting rebellion in the commons
the tories have a tennuous at best majority....
why isnt corbyn rounding up the opposition sufficient to go for a vote of no confidence...
he can call for and loose as many of those as he wants, with no fall out on him
cameron has only to loose 1
why isnt he out "tub thumping"
hes had what 4 months now? and what....?
the last election was a choice between shit and puke
I chose the least deep pile
I also voted for the MP who actually had the decency to reply to my email prior to the election asking about his stand on various issues of interest to me...
the ONLY one who bothered replying within a decent time scale was the tory MP
the others clearly thought it was beneath them to answer (the lib dem candiate took 6 weeks to answer....the labour candidate never did)

Re: Fox Hunting
Hi folks. I am absolutely and totally against hunting in any way form or fashion. As you all probably know by now I don't believe in God, but I do believe in the sanctity of all life. Yes, I know, we breed animals and kill them for food, that's natural for everything preys on somethiing else for its survival. But hunting for pleasure is wrong.
Not so long ago the wife and I were out for a ride, liking bird watching, when we came across the Fakenham Hunt, who were starting off across a field towards some woods. We got out of the car to have a better look and a hunter's car sat nearby. A lady called us over and opened the boot and low and behold there sat an Eagle Owl, a large predatory bird. The lady blatantly said 'we get round the no dogs law by using this owl.' Sick or what?
On another occasion, again down a quiet country road, we stopped for something to eat. Across the road in a field were a small herd of deer, and coming up across an adjoining field were four men with shotguns, behind a large hedgerow. Guessing they were after the deer, I got out of the car, blew up one of the bags we'd had some lunch in, and banged it. It sounded loud and the deer shot off at a gallop. The hunters saw us and we shot off before we got a blast from their guns.
Or have I got it all wrong? Should I kick shit out of my neighbours cat that craps on my garden? Should I give my grandchildren guns so they can shoot at the birds on the bird table?

Hello My Gorgeous East Anglian Buddy xxx
Hope you had a lovely Christmas, Happy New Year
I'm against hunting for sport but I can understand people like Victor who hunt for food to eat. As a child my family used to hunt for rabbits, pheasants and catch fish.
Fox hunting is terrible

Stormee, from where I was watching they might have had blunderbuses, I saw them with long barrelled guns, whatever they were.
Hi FTL my lovely lady, yes our xmas was ok, I hope you enjoyed it, not too much wine and pudding. A happy new year to you.
Being a country boy born and bred, I did own a gun once. Until one day I shot a pheasant and it landed by a hedge, when I found it it was still alive but looked to be in awful pain, mercifully I dispatched it but oh dear, as I looked down at it an overwhelming feeling of guilt and shame came over me and I thought, 'what right have I got, to go round the countryside killing for pleasure?' I went home and sold the gun and never, ever hunted again.

Seen that in Norfolk as well Stardesk, round the Dersingham/Sandringham area, I banged and shouted so that the deer scattered.

Re: Fox Hunting
Hi Sassy. There are quite a few Muntjac in Sandringham woods. When Ma-am and her family and guests are up here for the Xmas break, parties of them go out shooting, many are wealthy people who, so I'm told by one of the beaters, pay a hell of a lot of money to take part in the hunts.
How's this for greed? Not far from us is a small marsh which is frequented by uk and migrant geese, and other species of birds. The marsh, like most of them around the local coastal area, is owned by the Crown Estate, who lease it to the local wildfowling association, who obviously, shoot geese. Not only that but they also lease it to Natural England who are concerned with the preservation of nature. How's that for greed? I wrote to both parties and the Crown Estate asking if shooting could be stopped on just that one small marsh. But no, no one would listen and take up the matter. The marsh is frequented by local people out for a walk or dog walking, ramblers, by tourists, and of course bird watchers, also there are some cottages near the marsh where there are a couple of young lads who play in the area, also a lady has a couple of horses she rides around the marsh.
Natural England have even installed a board walk stretching quite a distance onto the marsh, right in front of the shooters and not many yards away from them. Can you imagine our thoughts and feelings when bird and nature watchers are there, watching flocks of geese, and seeing them being shot at?

Nicko, sorry to contradict you but you are totally wrong. We take note of where there are sugar beet fields and after they've been harvested we see large flocks of geese coming in to feed on bits of beet etc. During the day! You obviously haven't been in the right places at the right time.
Stormee, you didn't read what I said: The shooters were behind a thick, high hedge, the deer were a couple of hundred yards away on a field.

The Muntjac actually come into my Dad's front garden sometimes. How they can shoot them I have no idea, beautiful and not much bigger than a large dog.

Further to what I said above about geese in the daytime: When the tide comes in the geese come inland, whatever time of day. When the tide is out they feed on the uncovered marshes and mudflats.
As for the gull, there are two species, the Great Black-Backed Gull and the slightly smaller Lesser Black-Backed.

Hi Nicko. Yes Peter Scott was a champion. The town of Sutton Bridge is where out towards the marshes is a light house called the Peter Scott light. We get various bird species on these marshes.
I think we aught to have a topic for wildlife pictures. What do you think, even your cat, dog, or budgie. Come on folks, show that you respect all life and don't kill it just for fun. If you can afford cartridges and/or bullets you can afford to buy your food, not kill it yourself.

ethical cowardice
killing by proxy
do you REALLY think the way animals are slaughtered for food is more ethical than stalked/hunted?
have you ever SEEN how the animals are treated from farm to plate?
a rabbit shot by me with rifle is dead...as in DEAD....shot through the head with a .22 or a .17HMR
