Now I know why you posted that IRA video - and I defended you because I know at heart how you meant it - but that was rather a "Trump" moment for you - wasn't it?

Should we have said you had no right to say it and because you did, you're not a "free-thinker"?
That makes no sense.

You really need to think before replying Ben, you've created a double standard for yourself.

You'll notice I'm not running for president.

Lol cop out answer

Not a cop-out answer; I hold the president to a higher standard than I hold myself. She (or, I guess, he) is going to be the "leader of the free world." I'm a high-school sports editor.

Ben you've answered a question I never asked? Not sure what your answer had to do with what we were discussing but anyway....

Why would you hold the president, or that matter, anyone, in higher regard than yourself????? scratch

I know I'm not qualified to be president -- I want someone who is.

You mean know a lot about how to lie and spin and bend the truth, change your mind, backtrack, cover your tracks, eat in good places and surround yourself with likeminded people or people who you can use or who will use you?

No. I don't think you're qualified.'
You're too nice and too honest.

I don't think that person exists, the presidency is too all-powerful.

I know what they represent.  How significant it is is each person's decision.

So you agree with my summary of what Ukip represents?

Here is what you said:

The underscored parts are your superlatives and other hyperbolical bullshit.  Here’s what is left:

tommy wrote:Ukip are representing the issue in politics that affects...our national parliament!

With that I agree.

So which parts of my statement do you think were untrue?

And which parts do you want me to back up with proof?

I think I underscored the parts that would need to be eliminated before I agreed. It's not that your proffer is bad, it's just controversial and biased...and not to my side.

It's a spin. Most of politics is about framing.

Like Jack Nicolas said: Everything I told you was some version of the truth!

Tommy...think it through.  Political thought is not an endless competition.  Just answer a few questions:

1.  Why is UKIP "representing" the biggest issue in politics, and not itself the biggest issue?

2.  What do you mean, "affects everything else"?  How does it "affect"?  What changes take place?

3.  What do you mean "restore our right to democracy and self governance and self rule"?  What do you mean by "restore"?

4.  Restore from what?  Why is restoration necessary?

5.  What do you mean by "democracy"?

6.  What do you mean by "self governance"?  Who is the "self"?

7.  What do you mean by "self rule"?  Who, again, is the "self"?

I know you are impatient with this kind of methodical investigation of the smallest of thoughts, but it's got to be done or you have said nothing at all.  As you can see, there's a reason why my posts are a bit longer.    We either have longer posts, or longer threads (that say nothing)...such as we have here.

What I find most interesting... and amusing... is how you earlier were so sure of yourself when dismissing my statement... but now seem to be admitting that you didn't actually understand any of it by your subsequent request for explanations...!!!
