Stop the War Coalition founder declares support for Hamas and Hizbollah

A co-founder of Stop the War coalition and one of Jeremy Corbyn’s left-wing allies declared that he is a "supporter" of Hizbollah and Hamas.
Video footage has emerged of John Rees, who is one of the campaign group's most senior figures, saying that “resistance” groups such as these are “a legitimate part of [our] movement”. He went on to liken the two groups, both of which are designated terrorist organisations by the EU and US state department, to French and Italian partisans fighting against the Nazis in the Second World War. The video, taken at a STWC public meeting in March 2009, has emerged as pressure mounts on the Labour leader to withdraw from a the anti-war organisation's Christmas fundraiser on Friday evening.
