British extremists ranked alongside racist killers in shocking dossier of anti-Muslim activists

British extremists have been named alongside Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik in a shocking hate list of anti-Muslim racists.

Former BNP chief Jim Dowson, racist groups the English and Scottish Defence Leagues and right-wing party Britain First have all been named and shamed in a dossier on European extremists leaked to the Daily Record .

Dowson, former second-in-command of the British National Party, was linked to the sickening invasion of mosques across the country.

The EDL and SDL - and the groups links to football casual group the ICF - was also highlighted as one of a number of far right groups trying to capitalise on public fears over the Paris attacks and the ongoing refugee crisis.

Political group Britain First is also named as part of a growing anti-Muslim movement in Europe in the report by respected anti-racist group Hope Not Hate.

Nick Lowles, chief executive of Hope Not Hate and the report’s co-author, said: “Hatred of Muslims is moving from the margins to the political mainstream.

"Views that were once found on the margins of politics are now being voiced by mainstream political voices.

"Violence and prejudice against Muslims is increasing as anti-Muslim extremists seek to exploit tensions over immigration and homegrown jihadism.

“The refugee crisis and the recent Paris terrorist attacks have led to a seismic change in public attitudes towards Muslims, almost certainly leading to greater anxiety and hostility, more draconian security measures and the further dividing of communities.

“The very fabric of our multi-racial and multi-faith societies is going to be severely tested in the next few years and it is incumbent on us all to strengthen the bonds that unify liberal democracies.

“It is important that authorities take this challenge seriously. Far-right and anti-Muslim groups are becoming more right-wing, and yet they are still categorised as a public order problem rather than as the extreme far right.”

The 180 page report – called ‘The Counter-Jihad Movement: Anti-Muslim Hatred From The Margins To The Mainstream – revealed that the anti-Islamic movement is increasingly international in its operations, chronicling 920 anti-Muslim organisations and key activists in 22 countries including Scotland.

It revealed that groups are becoming increasingly well-resourced, particularly in the US, where eight foundations have donated more than £38m since the 9/11 attacks.

Among the activists named in the report is Norwegian mass murdered Anders Breivik, perpetrator of the 2011 Norway attacks. He killed eight people by setting off a van bomb amid the government quarter in Oslo, then murdered 69 participants of a Workers’ Youth League (AUF) summer camp on the island of Utoya. In August 2012, he was convicted of mass murder, causing a fatal explosion, and terrorism.

On the day of the attacks, Breivik electronically distributed a “manifesto: entitled 2083: A European Declaration of Independence, describing his far-right anti-Islamic ideology.

Dowson hit the headlines when he and his followers claimed to be carrying out a “Christian crusade” when their activists barged into what they called mega-mosques in Glasgow and Cumbernauld.

In the report, he is unmasked as still being a major player in the movement.

The report said: “Jim Dowson is a controversial Christian fundamentalist that has been active in British far right circles for nearly 30 years.

“Originally a trainee Calvinist minister from Cumbernauld, Scotland, Dowson is part of a radical anti-abortion Christian network that stretches across Europe.

“For decades he engaged in homophobic, pro-life politics in Scotland and Northern Ireland. In the early 1980s he held meetings with the Italian Fascist Roberto Fiore, who was at the time helping to radicalize the far right National Front.

“ In 2007 he linked up with the British National Party and eventually started running the party’s Northern Ireland call centre. He became central to the party’s fund raising operation reportedly raising over £2 million. However, an acrimonious departure followed which saw him cause serious damage to the workings and finance of the party.
“Dowson then became central to the success of the provocative counter-jihad street protest group Britain First (BF). He was the groups Head of Administration and takes much of the credit for shifting the party down the route of Christian Identity politics.

“However, in July 2015 he quit BF sighting the “provocative and counterproductive” tactic of mosque invasions. However, Dowson’s departure may well have been purely political, as he still has an apparent business interest in the group.”

Dowson was slammed for organising a group which confronted the imam of the mosque in Cumbernauld before handing out British Army-issue Bibles and leaflets about so-called Muslim grooming gangs.

Dowson, originally from Airdrie but now living in Belfast, has links to loyalist paramilitary heavies and is an anti-abortion militant.

The far right groups are united in their belief that Islam is an existential threat to the West.

Some believe that Muslims must be expelled from Europe.

The report revealed that the Scottish Defence League – an offshoot of the controversial English Defence League – was set up by football hooligans from the Rangers supporting Inter City Firm gang of casuals. The group’s online presence was led by a right-wing activist John Wilkinson, claims the report,

Other UK organisations cited in the report for driving organised hatred against Muslims are the Infidels, an anti-multicultural group with increasing Nazi leanings, and the South East Alliance, a non-sectarian group linked to the National Front.

The report identifies Britain First as the most prolific counter-jihad street protest group in the UK.

Despite employing provocative tactics that include invading mosques, it has more than 1.1 million “likes” on Facebook.
Leaders named in the report are Paul Golding, who plans to stand as London mayor, and his cohort Jayda Fransen.

They began hitting the headlines after a series of well-publicised stunts, driving military armoured cars up and down Brick Lane in London with thugs then confronting people outside the East London Mosque in Whitechapel, swigging cans of lager under the guise of countering Anjem Choudary’s so called “Muslim Patrols” with their own “Christian Patrols”.

In April this year it was reported that Britain First staged a Scottish recruitment meeting, where 20 anti-Islamic protesters met at a secret location to plan their campaign against radical Islam.

Isn't it sad, ignorant people are doing exactly want Daesh want and making Muslims feel they are not part of our society.  Was, is, and always has been Daesh's plan and the ignorant and stupd are helping them to make it happen.

The far right even though there is such terrorist attacks within Europe and more so in the US, its actually left wing terrorism that is more within Europe. Also as stated the ideologies are so different where one is highly unlikely to blow themselves up or willingly die in the cause of racist bullshit. At best some are just thugs and some will be killers.
If left wing regressives stopped making stupid excuses for Islamic terrorism , there would be less of a far right increase. If people recognised there is problems within the faith and had more Muslims standing vocally against such extremism, again it is unlilkely such extremism would not have grown as much as it should have.
