You all know that racial slurs aren't allowed on this site. I'm tired of seeing stuff like "paki," "raghead," etc. Anybody who has been using these epithets is officially warned and reminded that they are subject to moderator action and that repeat offenders can be banned.

Any administrator taking disciplinary action against a member for this reason has my support.

Nobody's claiming that I should get a free pass from name-calling.  Nor am I asking for one.  In the donnybrook that Vic had over Bee, I took no sides.  I like Bee and I still like him.  Maybe my friendship with him is the reason I was so quiet; I didn't want to get involved.  Bee's a big boy and he can well take care of himself; especially against the Tory cabal.  Incidentally, Bee is still a member and can appear at any time.  He has absented himself, and I have no idea why...we haven't been in touch.  But there was no banning or flouncing on his part.

But I took no action over the matter, and it's not who you are but what you did.  However, that doesn't mean that I didn't watch...and I'm capable of making my own judgments.  The guy you Sky folks think is a toothless, innocent old grump, is actually well capable of being quite a bully.  And when he got drunk he lived up to that judgment.

I was referring to the spat that took place between Vic and Bee, a month or two ago. Vic is another one who harbors grudges, and when he gets into the cocktail hour it all comes out. He took out after Bee in no uncertain terms.

Frankly, I don't find that entertaining or intellectually enlightening. I certainly don't think it contributes to the purpose of this board. Ben was saying something to the effect that he found Vic entertaining or intellectually enlightening, or something like that. I was affirming my opinion.

I have also constantly been on the receiving end of direct and personal insults since my arrival here, although I am very rarely ever guilty of anything more than just voicing completely valid viewpoints and opinions, and sometimes calling someone a twat... and then only when they are actually being a twat!!!



Sassy is also quite regularly directly and personally insulting with her posts towards me... all of which go completely unchecked... think it was only yesterday where she said I was 'the lowest type of dung'... or some such shit...!!!

Thank you Eddie... I must say, you are always very fair minded when it comes to reading my posts and accepting of my viewpoints and opinions as being as equally valid as anyone else's... without resorting to shout down tactics and insults like some of The others do on here... on many occasions you have taken the position of respectfully disagreeing while still being happy to engage further in discussion and explore the reasonings behind the views and opinions held.



This is a very admirable virtue you have Eddie!



But back to insults... they are generally common place from a select few when challenged by any view or opinion that differs from their own... this is especially so when they are drawn into discussion that they feel confident in winning but are then provided with evidence that undermines and contradicts their whole arguments, and which forces them to think in a way that they cannot logically deny, to start to see and accept the truth and logic behind the views and opinions... but where they then seem to firstly hate themselves, secondly deny themselves any further contemplation of The reality of said views/opinions, thirdly they redirect their anger back at me for daring to make them think things that hurts their deluded ego in the first place...!!!







I have always been happy to back up my posts and views with logic and reason and other evidence etc wherever challenged to do so, without insult...


Why are others so unable to debate and back up their views so effectively...!?


Especially as they are so convinced that they are 'right'...!!!???
