Finally a Sport worth Watching

MELBOURNE'S most controversial new spectator sport - lingerie football - went off without a hitch last night. Well, almost.
A bevy of beautiful girls wowed a crowd of more than 3000 playing in low-cut bikini and briefs.
Prominent bikie Toby Mitchell and his entourage were among the AAMI Park crowd quick to throw their support behind Australia's gridiron girls.

Yikes. Here in Texas we have REAL women's football:
Those are ladies.
Then again, this is what our high school girls look like when they play softball:

@ben
u don't have 'real' football at all ://?roflmao?/:
Very popular with the indigenous
And we even have a predominately Muslim women's team

Re: Finally a Sport worth Watching
Are they basically required to collide with one another full-strength on nearly every play? Because in American football, they are. On every play, a minimum of a dozen people smack into one another, often as hard as possible. I'd shudder to see what happened in that without pads.
I believe colliding with someone not carrying the ball is "obstruction" in rugby, no?

...very unfeminine and exploitation to an extent I would say, but when it is done out of free will then it's not harming nobody.
Would never go to see this though, it would seem a bit pervy.

there is no 'plays' 4 quarters of 20 min, none of these pussy time outs you guys take (unless someone is seriously injured)

OK, OK. I suspect neither of us will budge in this; I'm just saying the sports are too different for easy comparison. For this, may I introduce you to Mr. Larry Allen.
Larry Allen is a former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman, tasked with protecting the players who line up behind him (quarterback and running backs, all of whom are targets for the defense) and punching holes through the defensive linemen.
During his playing days, Allen stood 6-3, weighed nearly 150 kilos and could bench press nearly 320 kilos.
He could also run 40 yards (36.5 m) in 4.85 seconds.
If you were lined up against Larry Allen for a game of gridiron, his job would be to put you on your ass, as violently as possible, 30 to 40 times in the game. Your job would be to try to push him back and get past him. And when he spread his arms, the fingertips of one hand would be about 1.75 meters away from the fingertips of the other hand.
He was a human tank, and he could eat David Campese for a snack, dammit, a snack!!!!!

AFL is faster so not quite the bulk but
NRL is Rugby so more like NFL
http://www.zerotackle.com/nrl/rugby-league/players/heaviest-lightest/see-all-weight/
as u can see a lot of 100kg plus
and again no armour. that is for lingerie models
And we already know NFL is softer, I think it was the cowboys had organised to come over for a demo game against an AFL team one Game of each type, not only did we beat them at NFL (using very few timeouts) but once the NFL guys watched an AFL game not enough of them were willing to play to make a team.
Watch the MEN play, we tackle in the Air

Re: Finally a Sport worth Watching
Hmmm ... I can find no record of an NFL team ever playing an Australian team. Maybe it was a college?
Re: Finally a Sport worth Watching
Aug. 8, 1999 Sydney, Australia Denver 20, San Diego 17
was the official exhibition Game they came out an played.
I doubt one against an AFL team was official. Like I said the promoted 'watch the yanks play their game then our game' was never fulfilled.
