Just-World Phenomenon
Question: What Is the Just-World Phenomenon?
Answer:
The just-world phenomenon is a term referring to people's tendency to believe that the world is just and that people get what they deserve. Because people want to believe that the world is fair, they will look for ways to explain or rationalize away injustice - often by blaming the victim.
Those with this belief tend to think that when bad things happen to people, it is because these individuals are bad people or have done something to deserve their misfortune. Conversely, this belief also leads people to think that when good things happen to people it is because those individuals are good and deserving of their happy fortune.
Examples of the Just-World Phenomenon
The classic example of this tendency is found in the Book of Job. In the text, Job suffers a series of terrible calamities and at one point, his former friend suggests that Job must have done something terrible to have deserved his misfortunes.
In one famous study, two stories about an interaction between a man and woman was described to participants. Both stories were identical in every way except for the final outcome. In one version of the story the woman is raped, while in the other version the man proposes marriage. In both versions of the story, participants directly linked the two drastically different outcomes to the woman's actions.

Just World Phenomenom is the rationale being used by the Tory Party and those that worship at their alter in the way the demonise the poor, the sick and the disabled. Blame them for the misfortune that has befallen them because it's all their fault for not trying a leg to manage to get by. That's the Tory message in that they're just scroungers living off the back of the strivers who have to pay for them and if they say it often enough then it catches on by many of those who still have a job and have been lucky enough to have escaped the worst of their attack on the welfare system that has in the past supported those that have fallen on hard times and who have no need to depend on charity to make ends meet.

...A couple of years? :\\:[: ...The arrears are mounting for poor people living in council and housing association properties...There will have to be mass evictions before too long and imo that is when the troubles will start..Just a matter of time.

....The next Labour government will have the work on their hands to prevent mass disturbances..If mass disturbances don't happen before then.
I would suggest that emergency tax measures are brought in so that the rich pay their fair share, all arrears due to the bedroom tax to be wiped clean (frozen) and then abolish that in parliamentary time.
Raise more money from a fast track introduction of a mansion tax.
Fast track a tax on bankers bonuses.

Ban zero hours contracts.
Bring in a living wage, if small businesses can't afford to provide a livable wage then they shouldn't be in business at all.
My brother and i will be starting a small business next year, when we have sold our mothers property.
My ethos will always be to provide a livable wage for employees that we will be taking on over time, neither my brother nor i are greedy.

Property redevelopment is quite lucrative, and having a bank manager brother...We will not only have the capital but also the expertise to make things work.

Yep, it's one of the leading justifiers of conservative politics -- everything bad happening to someone is their own fault, they're a bad person. Like we could all be millionaires if we just worked as hard as millionaires do -- sure, the only barrier to becoming a millionaire is your own laziness.

when a "living " wage of £8 an hour is brought in, don't you think all those people who were on £8 an hour already will want a pay rise because they may feel they deserve more than someone who sweeps the streets or who works in a fast food restaurant on minimum wage. And then the people on wages above them will want rises and so on all the way up the chain. and the people at the bottom will still be at the bottom and prices will rise and they will be joined by even more people who still can't make ends meet because the firms they were working for went bust.
You don't improve the standard of living by driving the cost of living up.

that is a compelete Fallacy, most workers deserve more. Investor exepect too high return on the thier investment. they only have the money to invest because of society so they can pay to keep the society that has given them so much running.
Higher minimum wages protect against recession. Forcing the tax burden onto the wealthy also helps. Just tax 'billionaire' all she is worth, problem solved.

The proportion paid by the top one per cent of earners has risen steadily, hitting 25 per cent in at the time of the 2010 election and 27 per cent last year.
Figures: Tory MP Harriet Baldwin said the breakdown of income tax paid destroyed the Labour myth of millionaire tax cuts
This year the richest 0.1 per cent will pay 14.1 per cent of all income tax, and the mega-rich earning more than £1million will contribute almost 12 per cent.

u got a point even some of the top 1% are getting ripped off too.
Seems only the top 0.1% are to blame.
