I can say blackboard if I want to. I don't think many schools use them these days do they? You can still buy small ones in shops though.

I wouldn't say the N word because I don't think it's very nice. That's my choice, and also there would be sharp intakes of breath all over the place if I did.

deaths and mamings becasue of sheer negligence and malice due to vehicles is a massive problem ....

Now I suggested that the same rules for vehicle ownership as gun ownership should be applied.....and oh no...we cant have that....

the left say remove guns entirely...if it saves even ONE life a year its worth it....
well I say remove vehicles from some 90% of their present owners.....THAT would save untold lives and misery....

and YES i know guns tend to be used as a weapon rather than a mere tool when killing people whereas with vehicles its "accident". BUT MOST "accidents" are in fact negligence , and in many cases "malicious negligence" and thus no better than deliberate killing......

and of course the lefties greatest argument "less guns less killings " is for some strange reason not applicable to vhicles

double standards perhaps....because one would put its foot in YOUR world....

I'm not arguing for/against guns here.....as said I FULLY agree with the laws we have here what I am doing is pointing out that the ARGUMENTS you use, as in all things are utterly one sided.....

(and of course I'm guilty of the same ...since.....IF such reasoning was applied to vehicle ownership, it wouldnt affect ME (since I "qualify" as a gun owner)) Razz

I would say that cars are pretty much vital to the world we live in. Without them human ability to travel would become massively restricted. We need cars to get to work, to get out of or into the city, and to visit people. Guns provide nothing like the public neccesity of cars.

And why do you assert being PC is being without humour? Surely that is pretty limiting view of what is funny. If you can't have humour without being politically incorrect then surely that is just having a very narrow sense of humour?

there is elements of capitalism that work best for developing 'unknown' low impact industries but it is the an evil thing when talking about profiteering from necessities.

I would say that lefties do not believe in personal responsibility or freedom actually. They're fond of the nanny State, and think that the State should be responsible for everything, and blamed for everything that goes wrong in their lives. As for freedom, well they don't like people being free to make loads of dosh based on their own hard work. They think those people should give that money they earned away to those who didn't lift a finger.

after a few weeks the boss wanted to know just what the hell i was up to.....I reminded him WHY he had hired me and for what reason....so chill and let me do it...or get someone else...but dont EVER think you can throw your weight around with me.....

6 months down the line I had done what I had promised.....(people skills you see) at no additional costs, but neither the company owner nor my "line manager" EVER ....dared to treat me like an "underling" In fact the owner/ceo? regularly had me come into board meetings to give my POV and gain insight into things.....

I refused promotion to a managers position , becasue that would have meant "flying a desk" rather than being a hands on engineer (which is what I do best) SO they gave me the title of chief engineer and paid me a managers salary...... Laughing

but stress...nah....never.....

but you know its strange.....I never ever considered myself a "team player", I "dont do teams" I do not have enough faith in my fellow humans.....and yet....i ran a team of 8 engineers and 2 "post design engineers" for 3 years untill I was injured out of action.......

I suppose a lot was down to the fact I was "on the side" of the other generally much younger engineers

there was a lot of driving involved... flu season starts

one of the guys comes in clearly suffering .....I sent him home before he even got in the door.....

1 he wasnt FIT to drive all day
2 i didnt want all the other members of the dept down with it at the same time...

another comes to me says Ive had a call...missus has just been taken to hospital ...having the baby ...early....

my answer.......why are YOU still HERE????? phone me later with news......, now get your ass down there......

schools already cant cope with the problems of multiple languages....

and teachers are leaving in droves.....in part becasue of the schools under pressure....
