A 37-year-old woman is being treated in hospital after acid was thrown on her face.
The attack happened around 9pm on Friday outside the Turtle Bay restaurant in Guildhall Square, Southampton, Hampshire Police said.
An ambulance took the victim to Southampton General Hospital with significant burns to her face, neck and arms.
Police said it was an isolated incident and are appealing for anyone to come forward with information about the attack.

Acid attacks have to be absolutely beyond awful for the victims.
