ADO Forums Now Closed.

I have just been on A Different Opinion Forums,ADO for short website-ADO Forums is now closed. See screenshot.
Looks like Dean The admin of In A Flap has had enough of his crazy cow wife Sphinx,the admin of ADO and had her committed to a mental hospital.
Pity because I won't be able to muck about or post my protest signatures there any more. Actually it was a horrible for with their stupid rules so hooray. Me and Allakaka my boyfriend are going out for a celebration dinner tonight.

If ADO has closed then that is a real shame because technically is was a far superior board than any of the others that are doing the rounds and I would think Sphinx spent a few bob putting it together. And let's not forget that Sphinx gave us all a home to post on when sky finished and that kept a lot of us together so some credit is due there. It's just a pity that she lost her way a bit towards the end even though Big Andy, JD and myself tried to keep it going but there we go.
And she is nothing like what is being posted in the OP and she certainly isn't married to Dean who has his own life and a wife.
For all her faults the comments being made abour her can only be extremely hurtful if she reads them and it's time to put a stop to this nonsense.

Here's the thing; I don't want to make any topic totally off-limits. But past experience has shown me what happens to forums when you get a member who just posts about the same thing over and over in multiple threads -- it drives other users away. I feel that you have to stamp out that kind of behavior, which is really just spamming, in order to make a forum a fun place to hang out for the membership as a whole. I'm not trying to be an asshole. (Maybe it just comes naturally!)

On a serious note. We don't know if Sphinx has closed down her for or if as she has just closed it because she is upgrading the software. Sphinx hosts her forum herself though a paid web host,so she has to do everything herself including installing or upgrading the forum software. Since her forum is self hosted she must have back ups of the database,so she can re-install all the forum posts if she moves her forum. Unlike on free forum services such as this where you cannot move your forum.

I think hosting her forum herself is the only good thing she did. I used to have a forum on Forumotion and I had so many problems with FM that I deleted my forum. So if I start another forum,I will never use free forum services again. Free forum services don't work.
