Follow the money: Who sponsors the Corbyn smears?
Very interesting read. I saw it on Twitter on a retweet from Alan Davies.

The smear campaign against Jeremy Corbyn, however, gives a rare opportunity to see something even more interesting. It’s fascinating because it’s so transparent.
Corbyn proposes things that would be fundamentally good for the vast majority of people, but bad for private corporate interests – redirecting the avoided tax of corporations into its proper public hands, for instance.
The media then gets to respond, and has a choice between attempting some objective reporting – and potentially damaging the interests of its corporate sponsors – or shooting Corbyn and his policies down through smears and ad hominem attacks, scare-mongering or sometimes just regular arguments. It’s particularly easy to see the connection between advertising money and media bias in these cases, because the corporations who would lose out if Corbyn ran the country have their adverts plastered all over the articles written to undermine him.

Absolutely right, they are shivering in their shoes at the amount of support he is getting and what it would mean to them. Their smears have backfired, people have seen the reasons for the smearing and have stuck two fingers up! At last!

Even at Westminster, Corbyn was hardly alone when it came to concern about the pair’s case. The five EDMs that he signed accumulatively attracted the support of a further 71 MPs (including Labour, Liberal Democrat, Plaid Cymru, and even a Conservative). The most popular of those EDMs secured 43 names alone.
In addition, the primary sponsor of all five was not Corbyn, but former Labour MP John Austin (Corbyn, along with others, was a co-sponsor of the most recent). You can find the relevant EDMs online in chronological order here, here, here, here, and here.

Funny how media bias is only seen by some when it is against their favourites...

UKIP don't need any help, they do it all by themselves:
A UKIP councillor has been forced to apologise after he described pupils who attend a special school as "retards".
Councillor Bob Farrer, who is a member of St Neots Town Council and who is also a member of Huntingdonshire District Council made the disgusting comments at a council meeting this month.
