Teenage girl sent home for violating school dress code - by showing her collarbones
First topic message reminder :
Thousands have signed a petition started by a US mother left furious when her teenage daughter was sent home from school for exposing her collarbones. Stacie Dunn’s daughter, Stephanie, was disciplined by the head teacher of Woodford County High School in Kentucky after wearing a top and cardigan that did not conform to rules. Mrs Dunn, who was called in to the school after her daughter was sent home on 13 August, criticised the establishment in a Facebook post for its “ridiculous” dress code.

Oh dear, such a non-story it has had people debating the matter over 3 pages.
What a great mom that stands by her daughter also and fights to change a really sexist rule the school has, and yet others it seems would rather berate a mother for standing up for their daughter, speaks volumes that.
Not only that the publicity has had the desired effect which has now brought about the Head to compremise where she clearly did not compremise in the first instance.
That is why it is so important to make public such issues.

Maybe you should get some sleep if you are tired, but you even admitted here you had no interest in this story, so clearly your intent was to disrupt instead.
Tad poor that

I think you will find this sexist rule was made based on the grounds of not distracting boys.
Sexist plain and simple as the boys are the problem and the girl should not be penalized for that.

The rule was about girls not showing off their tits with with revealing cleavage tops

I suggest you read again on the rule for the collarbone, as its reasoning is sexist based saying boys will be distracted. Its forcing girls to coverup for a problem that boys have, not the girls themselves

It's not a problem, it Is A natural reaction.
It Is A school for learning... not a fashion parade or a place for flashing the flesh.

Its sexiest plain and simple and making girls out to be a problem when they are not, as its the boys that have the problem. So like I said you support sexiest measures, next you will be telling me you support a school that enforces wearing the headscarf.

I think you will find as seen you are the one talking shit and supporting sexiest measures.
It is there in black and white the reason behind the collarbone being covered up.

Holy shit! This must be the catholic in you.
But a natural reaction like attraction is not a "problem". Neither girls or boys have a problem but the reaction still exists.
Yes people are attracted to others, but enforcing a girl to cover up claiming the boys are going to be less attracted is absurd and sexiest.
That must be the Muslim in you
Its placing a blame onto women as if they are encouraging this attraction.
Which is abusrd

It Is about dressing modestly so everyone can concentrate on learning which is The purpose of the school... it Is not a fashion show or a titty exhibition...
All will be expected to adhere to certain standards of what is deemed appropriate and acceptable.
Nothing wrong with that at all.

Where did I say boys shouldn't dress modestly in an educational institution?
FYI: every time you misrepresent me or claim I said something I didn't, I'm going to use the shorthand of calling you a "dumb ass". Saves time.
Depends how you define modest.
So you think calling me anything is going to bother me ha ha ha
What an immature childish mentality.
I see you have now changed the course of the actually debate.

I think it's fair to call you names if you continue to misrepresent me. It may be childish but it saves me time. Just wanted to let you know, that's all.
Do as you please, but all you are doing is now disrupting the debate.
It just further proves how immature you are.
Jog on boy, you are boring now

If you want it to stop, stop misrepresenting me. Simple.
I do not care whether you do, its that simple.

Tommy Monk wrote:Is There any proof that she was looking t.e same in school as she does in The picture...?
Yes there is. The fact that there is no substantiation that she was photographed or appeared otherwise, means that she has always looked just the way she did in the single photograph we have. At least in those clothes...on that day. And really, if you think about it, that's all that we have and so it's conclusive.
Moreover, the fact that she looks lovely, and dresses modestly and handsomely, means that she conforms to a habit pattern of modesty and attractiveness. In short terms, the one unassuming photograph we have trumps the imaginings of mean people who wish the worst for her.
Hmmm...attractive and modest girl; mean people...tough choice.
