Sweet treats
Bought some Liquorice Allsorts yesterday. Maaaaan! Those things are good! I'd forgotten how much I really like them. Love liquorice.
These and Pear drops, have got to be my all-time favourite sweets.
When I was little my dad wanted to put me off smoking. He made me take a puff of his cigarette to "put me off forever".
Them after wards, he gave me liquorice to take away the "horrid but necessary lesson" taste.
It didn't work; I liked the cigarette and loved the liquorice and for years would enjoy the two together!
Sorry dad

We used to buy "Gob Stoppers" great big hard sweet balls that changed colour the more you sucked 'em. I think they cost the old 1 penny.

Re: Sweet treats
People in Texas go nuts for peanut brittle (also made with pecans), but it's not really my favorite thing. I'd be interested in seeing if this is popular elsewhere:
Re: Sweet treats
@ben
it is fairly popular but it often has a variety of nuts

Re: Sweet treats
Yes we have peanut brittle, which is nice albeit bad for teeth and slightly too sweet.
I'd prefer pecans though. Peanuts are quite a boring nut.

You can keep pecans too
I think the Allies in WWII used nuts from brittle to replace worn-out bearings in Sherman tanks. I'd have to look it up again to be sure ...
Re: Sweet treats
Soor Plooms. If you could suck one of these without screwing up your face at some point in the suck then it would be remarkable.
They're fine to start with until you hit the soor bit
Happy sucking
