MUSIC - What are you listening to lately?
Been having a tidy up this week and came across a load of old cassette tapes full of music.
Loads of good old stuff and an assortment of old DJ mix tapes from old DJ friends from back in the day.
Luckily I have an old tape deck to play them on and will be going through them for the next couple of weeks.
I used to play in a couple of bands and among the tapes are a few of our rehearsal recordings that I'm sure will be most amusing to have a listen to.
Quite hoping to find a recording of me And A friend messing about around 25 years ago where we did an excellent version of blackbird by the Beatles...(me on guitar).
One of the tapes leapt out at me... haven't heard it for ages... pink Floyd - meddle album one side and wish you were here on other side...
Timeless... classic...
Still love it as much as ever...
Anyone care to post some of their old favourites here will be most interesting...
Please post band name and album/song title instead of just YouTube link and embedded video etc... cheers!

Isn't it fun when people bring politics into these music threads?

Re: MUSIC - What are you listening to lately?
Don't have a tape deck on the hi-fi, so didn't listen to them for a long while. However, while I was working at the charity shop they had a huge stack of story tapes, all the classics, and as I was having trouble sleeping iI bought them, £10 the lot and got myself a person tape machine, only £11 off Amazon. Then of course I realised I could listen to all my old music tapes, heaven!

Re: MUSIC - What are you listening to lately?
Have listened to it Eddie and love it. Have made a new friend here who stood like me in the last election and I was thrilled she got in as she did most of the leg work. We are going to be raising money for the town with a '.......y has talent' later in the year. She's a really good jazz singer and has asked me to do something with her, I'm debating, voice not what it was, but perhaps some practice will help. Singing is magic, takes you out of yourself and lifts you up.

Re: MUSIC - What are you listening to lately?
Had a santana best of album on again earlier and A bit of 'L T J Bookham - earth' compilation...(the one with 'state your destination' as 1st track)...
Was trying to find an old reggae track on internet earlier without any luck... heard it few months ago on a local pirate radio station... can't remember who it's by, only know it was one of the old roots artists... dont know name of track either, just remember bit of chorus being 'politician you're wrong, politician you're wrong'...
Anyone know it or got any ideas of how I might easily find it?
