Barack Obama has told Americans the time is approaching when they will have to face up to their country's record on gun crime.

The US President was speaking after nine worshippers at a black church in South Carolina were shot dead by a young white man.

The suspect, Dylann Roof, an admirer of white supremacist regimes, was arrested in a neighbouring state after fleeing the scene.

"I've had to make statements like this too many times," Mr Obama said, referring to a series of mass murders in the United States in recent years.

"Once again, innocent people were killed in part because someone who wanted to inflict harm had no trouble getting their hands on a gun.

Whites being twice as many than blacks over the period of years listed... at first glance you would expect whites to be much higher and black lower as blacks only account for 13% of population but then when you considered that blacks are responsible for about half of violent crime then will be subject to half of the police action in response... so should be more 50/50 in deaths, not twice as many whites than blacks.

if blacks = 13% of the population then if the proclivity to crime was the same for both populations whites would

expect to see about 7 times as many killings

assuming blacks are responsible for half the violent crime then given an equal response by the authorities

whites should STILL expect to see 3.5 times as many killings....

So half of overall police response is targeting blacks.


So if half the time police are dealing with apprehending black people and the other half of their time is apprehending white people then You would expect to have similar numbers of black and whites dying during this.

Of course ideally no people should really be dying at all as a result of apprehension. That goes without saying...


But although police time apprehending blacks and whites is about 50/50... twice as many whites died as a result of police apprehension.

I posted a link which showed that over a number of years, around half the crime was reportedly done by blacks and half by whites.


Therefore the police will be apprehending a roughly even number of blacks and whites and in a much similar way as they are all trained to do.


But it showed that twice as many whites died as a result of police apprehension than blacks did.



If police apprehend 100,000 blacks in a year and 100,000 whites... you would expect to see a similar number of black and white suspects dying as a result.


To have twice the number of whites dying than blacks shows something else is going on here...
