It's not something I look for Jane, but I would have thought that healthfood shops would be a safe bet.

If its sold as "organic" then its supposed to be pesticide free....
(still trying to figure out if "mineral tea" is possible )

Looks like my tea drinking was one of the things I was doing wrong @Eddie Only that soil association has been giving gmo and plastic tea bags the green light. Not supporting that fake assurance any more.
Can't trust the organic labels either. Thanks all.

According to a report from almost a year ago, there's a scary-high level of pesticide in most of the biggest tea brands:

I drink Assam tea - which is still made by a high street brand, namely Tescos - but can't find much on whether that's unsafe?

I drink Lipton, which is supposed to be riddled with pesticides, but I'm OK. Maybe because I'm big and mighty?

Re: Would anyone know of any pesticide free tea in uk?
Even the tea bag can have plastic in them to stop them from breaking. Was looking up on the Yorkshire tea and apparently that is now owned by France. Their bags often break, so maybe a good sign. I did buy their tea-leaves, and have the co-op fair trade tea leaves also. But having freezed coffee here mainly. No room in this kitchen to add a coffee machine and worried about aluminium being in them anyway. So wish I could have a drink knowing I was not killing my self of my friends. Still love ginger tea, so not all is lost. Wonder what coffee maker cameroon has got, he appears a bit senile to me so will avoid his choice.

Re: Would anyone know of any pesticide free tea in uk?
Hi folks. Tea? Argh! I'm damned annoyed. I've used tea bags for years but recently I fancied a nice genuine cuppa, made in a teapot with tea leaves. I bought a packet of Tetley which said on the packet 'Leaf Tea.'
Was it hell. When I opened it to put a spoon full in the teapot all I found was the same ghastly dust you get in tea bags. I sent it back to Tetley with a complaint about wrong info' on the packet. Their reply said it was tea leaves. Rubbish.
Anyone know of a genuine leaf tea, like we used to have, when you have to use a strainer? HELP, I want a cuppa like I was brought up with.

Proper tea shops sell them. There's a couple in London Covent Garden but the name escapes me....

Hi Eddie. I don't go to London much these days so I'll have to ask in a cafe what could they recommend. Hopefully something decent.
