After an unknown illness sent him into a vegetative state, Martin Pistorius’ parents were told that their son had less than two years to live. The Pistoriuses plummeted into depression. Apart from the religious aspect, this is worth reading to understand something like this better scientifically. Not mocking the religious part here, because clearly he found faith through his time like this which clearly greatly helped him continue to survive and it is a good example of where religion can certainly be beneficial through faith by inspiring not to give up. You can find non religious aspiration for the same, but this is a + for religion from me here.
