erm......that you know is a matter of opinion...
moreover you make a mistake in thinking that evolution is so deeply embedded as to create a "change of species"
It does not
the change can be very slight and subtle, but its still an "evolution"
see this is where you get it all tangled, your ideas are far too simplistic...
evolution is the "process"
the result can be anything from
adaption (which this is an example of )
a change of niche (like the so called vampire finches) (go look em up)
or in extreme cases a change of function or appearence that could be justified by a change of species, although as far as i know there are no examples of such a radical change and it sis generally held that any such instant massive change would likey be lethal anyway
change from being accepted as one species to being accepted as another is more a series (often over large time spans) of adaptions added to gether....
sometimes the changes caused by one adaption can then trigger further changes....
its all very fluid.....but all very coherent.....

nope that is just adaption, the species remains the same within seemingly set parameters..

Re: major key to curing HIV...
You're still missing it- yes for a while a species remains the same, but after maybe 100,000 years or more of further adaptations a group of a species may have change so much that it can no longer continue to be referred to as the same. A creature of the same 'species' 100,000 years in the future may be quite a different creature to its ancestor 100,000 years before. That is evolution, and why we never see a cross over of fossils from different periods.

Re: major key to curing HIV...
On the subject of HIV. I always felt Princess Diana did more for the acceptance of that disease than anyone.
Also, and you may laugh, I think Yom Hanl's portrayal of an gay AIDS sufferer in the film Philadephia, really kicked home the point that this disease affected all kinds of decent and loving people.
Made me sob my heart out.
Ps Tom hanks always makes me cry lol
