Israel approves of 77 new illegal settlement units in East Jerusalem
Jerusalem
In a provocative move, Israeli government has issued approvals for 77 new Jewish-only settlement units in occupied East Jerusalem, an Israeli NGO said Monday.
According to leftist Peace Now movement, which campaigns against Israeli settlement activities, 36 of the new tenders are for Neve Yaakov settlement and 41 for Pisgat Zeev.
Neve Yaakov settlement area was captured by Israel in the Six Day War and a new neighborhood was built there despite International opposition.
Pisgat Ze'ev was established by Israel as one of the city's five Ring Neighborhoods on land effectively annexed after the 1967 Six Day War.
The Peace Now movement slammed the move as an "indicator" of the policies of the new government under rightist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whose Likud party won the country's parliamentary elections last month.
Earlier this year, the group said that Israeli settlement construction in occupied Palestinian territories increased by 40 percent during 2014.

International law means nothing to Israel, neither does human life if it's not Israeli.
